1) They will not give you your RPAL number over the phone at CFC or at the CFOs office, you have to wait for it in the mail. So, no go joining the gun club before you have it.
2) short term ATT to drive gun home from store or post office, this is good for hours not all day. I was told that they are very strict about what time you pick up the firearm and the time allotment will depend on distance you have to travel. The short term ATT may only be good for as little as 1 hour. They can issue these same day.
3) long term ATT, fax them a copy of your gun club membership with your RPAL number written on it. Fax 204 984-0670.. to talk to the CFO office its 1800 731 4000 ext 8002. They will process it and you will have to wait for the original copy to arrive in the mail.. minimum wait time 1 week (or time it takes in the mail)
4) Just a note.. I sent my application for the RPAL away March 27, it has been approved and I will have the license in hand in another 1-2 weeks it takes Canada Post to get it here. 1 week, to get the range membership, another 1 week for the long term ATT.. and we are at 100 days from the day I took the course to the day I can actually fire a gun.. Fu**ing rediculous.![]()
Well, you may have been angry 100 days ago, but you're not angry now...right?
