Auto 9mm with no thumb safety?

nobody has even mentioned the RUSSIAN tok yet- it again has no safety and could be perfectly suited to a smaller- handed chap- it is certainly THIN enough

I want to shoot Steel Challenge. I don't think a Tok is a good idea or would be allowed for that matter. I have one, and yes it's the perfect size for my hands. Next best are my single stack 1911s, followed by my CZ75.

Yeah, he made no mention of wanting a good gun...:p

M&P Julie Goloski edition (great sights, adj back strap)
Gen4 Glock (adj back strap)
HK P30(L) sans 's' prefix (fantastic gun but $$, adj back and side panels)
Cz 75bd or Po7 Duty (decocker, duty has VERY small grip, might do you well)
SIG 239 (dark horse but meets your req's and is super thin)

Is the "M&P Julie Goloski" really any different than a vanilla M&P other than having pink grips?

What are the safety features of a SIG 239? Suitable for Steel Challenge?

Thanks

M

The Warren sights on the JG make it IMO, does have a better trigger but that may be from use.
Sig 239 has typical decock of most SIG's

EDIT: I don't (and never have done) steel challenge, so am no up on it's rules.

Go handle the M&P, i have two .40 and .45 and had the 9mm. They are heavier than the glock so handle recoil a little better. With the three grip choices you should be able to find one that fits like a glove. I have a Gock 17 and love it but also love the M&P's. Looking to get rid of my 1911 and CZ75 to stick with Polymer guns. Love the simplicity and lighter weight.

Love the simplicity

Bingo, that's what I'm after.

Now, should I revisit Glock? Will a 17 fit me better than the 22 did?

Have shot an M&P and found that satifactory.

Have handled an XD? and found it top heavy and a little on the large size.

No experience with HK, how ever I have seen posts that claim once you pick one up you won't go back?

Decocker? That means the first shot is double action, correct? Or is this also true for the striker type pistols? Don't remember how my 22 worked, I only shot paper with it.

Thanks for the help everyone!

M

I have tried or own all of the pistols mentioned so far in this thread. I own 4 M&Ps, 3 Glocks and several 1911s. I have owned the 75b and shadow. I know guys who have the rest and have taken them for test drives.

IMHO you are looking for a M&P pro.

The back straps make for a very versatile grip, the pro has a better trigger and updated sites. All the advantages of the JP model but without the pink grips.

Thumb safety is an option but not standard , it is an up charge from the 'normal' models.

Personally I would shy away from the flock gen 4s for the next year or so what with all the 'issues' rearing up with the recoil springs etc. not to say they are bad guns but why not wait till they have their bugs worked out.
