AutoTrickler V4

If I remember right Cambridge Environmental is Canadian and they would have the scale and the Autotrickler is Canadian so you could buy direct. Im thinking the CE products side of Cambridge is in Canada as well but I could be wrong.

Is it still 6 months+ wait time?
Anyone have theirs, and if so how long did it take?
I assume it's awesome, but do you have any complaints or issues?

My RCBS Lite helps but is still off by 1-6 kernels of Varget each throw

I signed up in August and put my deposit in about a month ago.
I'm not expecting it before January or February.
I'm in no rush since I shoot less during the winter.

I've got mine from Amazon.ca. I remember it was same price but free/fast shipping. Not sure if they still have that offer available...

Anyone with the complete package FX scale + V4 trickler can tell me total height in inch of the unit please?

Thanks

Thought I would vent. I had been using a Lyman gen6 for the past 3 years. Recently the load cell seems to have gone wonky for no apparent reason, often being out as much as 2 full grains on loads above 50 grains. Not good, I took her apart , cleaned, de static down to the load cell and circuit board level, no joy. The exercise just made me realize how relatively cheaply everything is made. Looked at the competitors and honestly they all look like they are built from the same Chinese factory.

Decided I was going to bite the bullet on the made in Canada Autrotrickler v4 and made in Korea Fx120i scale and after a month's wait I finally got the combo 3 days ago. Probably took me close to an hour to to de-box and carefully put everything together, turn everything on. Scale powers up but won't read any load, won't zero, ffs!! I read the entire scale manual, didn't help. Call the Canadian vendor Cambridge Environmental and troubleshoot with a nice lady named Jeanelle. She thinks its broken, I agree but she won't issue a RMA until I talk to a product engineer in the US that works for A+D engineering, the manufacturer of the scale. I'm a little pissed because it obviously does not support its core function of measuring weight, not entirely sure what an engineer will bring to the party but reluctantly agree to call the contact number. After 2 days of phone tag I finally get to talk to him. He instructs me how to get into an engineering mode on the scale , run a menu command to see if there is any load detection, there is none( really only proving that I am not a complete idiot) and then declares the unit broken. He suspects its a simple fix and offers me permission to open the unit without voiding the warranty. I'm like its a dud straight out the box and for the small fortune I paid for this scale I don't feel like I want to fix it. I have plenty of stuff I have to fix on my wife's to do list and I am seriously not looking for additional entertainment.

After more comms with Cambridge they finally issue me an RMA for its return trip, they of course won't ship its replacement until they get it. I think it would have been easier just get a credit card charge back but I still want to try the autotrickler/scale combo. That said, things this expensive should not be that hard to sort when it obviously does not work. Rant off.

I have a V2 auto trickler that ran good up to last week when it stopped programming, di full recalibrate nothing, sent Email to autotrickler.com and after a few hours of back and forth the conclusion was the electronics had died. Ordered upgraded electronics direct and less than a week later everything works fine. I suggest you deal direct as these units are made in Canada. The owner of the company is very knowledgable and stands behind his product.

To be clear in my situation it was the Fx120i scale that was DOA, the autotrickler V4 was fine. Ultimately autotricker requires an appropriate scale if you don't have one already. MacDonald Innovations the maker of autotrickler does not sell or directly support the recommended Fx 120 scale. Cambridge Environmental is their recommended Canadian third party vendor of both the recommended scale and autotrickler.

Well finally got my replacement scale today, powers up and weighs things appropriately, nice finally. Attached the autotrickler V4 to the scale, calibrated with the app and was in business. Its a very fast powder thrower. Much faster than my old Lyman gen6. I like how the new version has the main powder thrower and trickler portion integrated into one unit. The machining and componentry appear very decent. It didn't have any problem with larger extruded powders. Overall seems like a very nice tidy, accurate package. I guess it was worth the wait and hassle :)

Good to hear, should receive mine somewhere next week, together with a Henderson trimmer.

I got my V4 auto trickler and FX120i scale yesterday and I just ordered it April 28. This thing is an amazing piece of equipment. Thanks Adam.
