Who cares if the surplus dries up. You can buy MFS 7.62x39 FMJ at $6.50 per 20, you can't even load that cheap unless you're using Berry's bullets, then you still have to do all the work for marginal accuracy gains, and then you have to find all the brass.

This gun alone is responsible for keeping 7.62 alive. It's freaking immortal. So I don't see the cartridge going extinct any time soon
