Just acquired my first two last week from Dad's estate. Older Sauer 12ga and an even older Cogswell and Harrison 12ga sidelock. I'll post a couple of pics when the moving truck gets here.

Currently two twenties, two sixteens, one ten and a whole bunch of twelves. Currently all British except one Spaniard but that changes. Sidelock, boxlock, hammers and hammerless, black powder and nitro, , top lever, side lever, bottom lever, love 'em all, this is my passion. And I intend to shoot four or more over this weekend at our annual side by side sporting clays shoot. Great fun.

I picked 7 to 9 option but another is on the way to put me into next category. 3 have external hammers. 4 have composite barrels. 1 is a cape gun.
Pretty much have my needs covered and shoot them all fairly regularly.

So, can someone articulate the draw of the SxS? I've owned only one - a very old Belgian with damascus barrels that I loaded up with black powder and home made shot (In win AA hulls. ). Would sometime take it out for a round of trap just for S&Giggles.

It was absolutely fun, but I think more for the loads and the ancient than the Action style.

Share. What calls to you about your SxS?

Rob!

To me it's the pointability and responsiveness. Two chokes two choices two loads. Less opening angle than an ou. Nice lines. Shorter oal than a pump or semi. Simplicity. Reliable. Old World craftsmanship
