Has anybody else experienced this issue?

When feeding rounds from the magazine the bullets are marked on the bottom as they proceed into the chamber. I don't see any burrs on the front of the magazine that would cause this - has anybody else experienced it?

Would these marks be enough to impact accuracy? I have not experienced the incredible accuracy that everybody raves about from my particular axis yet - however I only recently bought it and have only tried one ammunition type - Federal NonTypical 140gr. The performance has been sufficient for deer (4in at 100yd) but not mind blowing, next trip to the range I will single load the rounds to eliminate this possibility.

Would you think this is grounds to order a new magazine from Savage?

4" at 100yds!? Jeez. My 270win Axis (not axis 2, so no accutrigger) does better than 2" with any factory ammo I've fed it (which includes the big 3, Federal blue box, Winchester superX and Rem Corelokt), and is sub-MOA with good handloads.

I've also never noticed anything like that on my bullets. It seems odd to me that the magazine would create little dents like that rather than a long scratch though, if it was the magazine causing it?

I am probably being a little dramatic about the group size, but there definitely have been no MOA groups at 100, and the POI seems to be inconsistent.

If POI is not consistent, I'd be looking at the action bolts and scope mounts/rings. Also, I found that expoying the trigger guard into place really helped with rigidity in the wrist area (can't comment if it impacted accuracy but it really made the stock feel less flimsy in the wrist)

Check the edge of your chamber if you don’t thing your mag is the cause. My 375 Ruger had very sharp feeding rails and leading edge of the chamber. Had Guntech smooth them out when I sent it to him for a trigger and bedding job.
