Looks awesome, I have a rack and skull here at my place like that,I found it on the base where i work, found the whole skeleton actually, was quite surprised, ive been wanting to make a mount, do you have measurements and what not for all the work you did for your plaque, if so please shoot me a PM, thanks
Hey Ryan! I'd be happy to. If you want the exact same shape as what I have here send me your mailing addy and I will just cut out a template of it and send to you. The shape isn't perfect one side to another but the beauty of moose racks is they are even more unique which covers alot of blemishes!

I new this pallet was heavy but even looking closely at the sun bleached wood I never would have been able to tell it was oak. What a suprise when it came out of the planer!Here is a shot to try and show how the cable fits in the notch. This design would be cool for any type of skull you want to hang on the wall. At any given moment you can pull it off the wall and let your friend check it out.
Well, maybe if it isn't 50 lbs!
Fester, I came up with this one for the Deer I got this year. I tried hacking off the teeth for the more traditional Euro mount this time but the cable methoed could work too. I basically traced the skull and went an inch oversize all the way around. It turned out ok.
Now your talkin!
Momma's not so keen on the idea tho, especially with me being away trying for a Ram for the last 9+ years it eats up pretty much all the reserves left for they year!
One day tho......
Now that's tempting but I opened my big yap and put meself on the hook. Still, it looks like I have a little time to come up with something.

Looks like we are in the same boat when it comes to taxidermy and wives. I actually caught #### this fall because i didnt fill my moose tag. She wants a full out moose shoulder mount though!!! I guess i do have to pay a smal price. She hunts too, but refuses to gut. I can handle a gut job or two in order to peacefully maintain my taxidermy displayed throughout the house.

Christy wants the full shoulder mount too. I told her she could have it but she has to shoot it!
After going for her cow moose this year I don't know if she would be willing to search for a 60"+ bull. She said she earned a new respect for hunters, it isn't shooting into a kettle like she thought....We are both VERY fortunate to have wives in favor of displaying dead heads. Sounds like we are few and far between!
Another trick I found for those who have a ram skull to display. They are real to prop up on a shelf w/o having them roll back and point at the sky. If you don't want a plaque unther them, get a chunk of wood dowel and slide it in the brain cavity, trim to length to achive the desired head angle. Now the skull can rest on the bottom of the horns with minimal support to distract your drooling. I can post a demo pic later for this one.....
If there are any other ideas out there go ahead and post them guys. My next one to tackle is a plaque that swivels horozontally with a deer skull that can come off of it.

Perhaps if you remove the drywall and use the whole box of screws.
Here was my interim ram skull prop. Before I had it resting against the wall and when it slipped on me it took off allot of paint and made for a another fix it job.
The back side of this one's horns are extremely rough like a wood rasp, took off the paint and scarred the wall badly.Here's the dowel:
And you can easily hide it with a wee bit of imagination.
When I finished putting my schtuff back up by the moose I used the dowel to prop up one of the deer skulls with great success too.
........or use black drywall screws.
Really great job, Noel. Very good idea. You should keep your eye out for some elm pallets, as well. Guy here rips and planes them, then uses it to build gorgeous gun cases.
That the bull you got with your 9.3?
