Just thought I would share some photos from my back poarch. They have been coming like clockwork everyday for the last 2 weeks. I keep replenishing the apple supply + I put down a Sweetlix from the feed store. I hope I can keep em coming back.

first thing i do is skin the scent glands of and cut the
rear legs of. ever smell your hands after touching the back legs??? when u gut after touching the back legs u get
that stink in the meat. after i cut the back legs of i change
gloves (nitrile) or wash my hands so i don,t get that stink
in the meat. my 2cents worth.

same for moose , elk , deer. i always have a couple lenghts of baler twine in my pockets to keepp the legs
apart when gutting. ever notice some wild meat has no smell when cooking and others stink to hi heavens so bad that a dog will not eat it. on moose deer and elk , i cut
the brisket just of center so it cuts fairly easy with a knife
i continue the cut all the way to the head. i then use the
wind pipe to pull the lungs and guts out. i don,t get
any blood above my wrists.

I wonder what Jbunny wold think of our gutting job on last year;s moose Mumptia? Laying in between two downed trees on a hump of dirt with it's head in a hole and not a standing tree for 300 yards. Got kind of messy. A little gamey smell when we cook it but not bad.

LOL messy????? more like down right dirty.
u notice that on my last post there was no mention of
cariboo. i type with one finger and slow so i will let
somebody else pipe in with why a large cariboo heard
bull in rut is not fit to eat in my humble opinion. LOL
