After reading so much on CGN about how Ballistic Coefficient of a bullet doesn't matter for hunting, it spurred me to go out and get a new rifle

28 Nosler, loaded with the 154gr Hornady Interlock RNSP

Shoots MOA or less, so far at only 3113 fps but I'm just getting warmed up

BC is only relative to accuracy. If a hunter can put 5 rounds into 3" at 200 yards, does it matter whether the bullet had a BC of .250 or .500 or .750? BC may well assist accuracy and consistency at distance, but is only relevant at the extremes that most Hunters don't shoot at... but of course, when you push extremes all factors become exponentially more important. Personally, I like to leave plenty of margin in all aspects of hunting.

I guess it depends on how far you want to shoot but with a 28 Nosler you should retain plenty of energy. Likely good for further than most people would want to shoot in a hunting situation.
With a lesser caliber the BC might matter more if you want to retain energy a little further out and wick the wind.

:) Well put, and a good tact for the vast majority of the hunting group.

I know you're just joking but BC sure does matter.

Lapua naturalis 6.5 140gr factory lapua load in everyone's favorite 6.5cm. BC is .201!

I like that bullet! I have taken many deer with that from my 280. Longest was a very large mule at just under 500. Past what I usually feel is a sure deal. I also liked the nosler 175 partitions, but my fav is still in the 140 range.
