Ballistic Plates Incoming

They have many ballistic packages at different levels of protection. The warehouse was very helpful and accommodating, scheduling a time for me to come in and shop. Good news, the shipment arrived in Vancouver and is currently on its way to us. We don’t have a firm eta as apparently there is some form of strike that is affecting shipments coming through the port of Vancouver, but we estimate between a week to two weeks now.
 
I’m rather new here and so I cannot understand the need for plates? I heard IPSC runs plate carriers but not sure if they are also donning on plates.

Some people use it as part of the protection equipment along with eye&ear protection, others buy it to "have it and not need it instead of needing it but not having it", some like to train like they fight.

Basically, people buy ballistic protections because they can

I dont understand the need to question other person needs.
I love to wear pink thongs and I dont expect you to understand.

While I agree it’s not really anyone’s duty to question why anyone else would want something,I’ll also say having thick skin will do you good around here.....pink underwear are getting more popular haha

And to actually answer your question.you wear helmet on a bike or motorcycle and a hard hat on the job,why not wear safety equipment designed for this sport.

Or you know,if your ever in the situation where someone plans at taking shots at you.

We agree with this entirely. It is similar to the condom analogy"better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it". Also we want all of you to get along and not get too prickly, as a community we face enough pressures from outside that its best for us to be the best towards each other as possible.

For certain tactical competitions in the USA a carrier w/plates is part of the competition regs and running at distance is part of the overall course. I plan to get a package,,my life is worth more than the price. Just my .02

As a newly licensed hunter with plans to get out this fall, I figure a descent plate jammed into your back pack would be some valuable insurance.

I haven't seen any requiring it. I've seen a few classes recommend one, but not matches/events/competitions.

Not required but we see it more than we used to at some match. LEO/MIL using their gear or something very similar to keep muscle memory "current" and taking every opportunities to train and confirm their training.

Or a straight up discrete plate carrier since you're hunting with what I assume will be rifles. Protect both sides.

Arrived in Vancouver.... travels past me to Ontario.... then shipped back to me :p
