The fog just makes things more interesting. Think of how fun it would be to spear a bear in the fog where you can only hear him coming at you....
Exactly! I have eaten a lot of bear meat, and it is delicious, including meat from two different grizzlies.
The first grizzly I shot, we ate the entire bear because we were able to bring the meat out quite easily. The other was from a bear that I had guided a hunter on. That bear was flown out of the bush, because the meat sampled in camp was so good.
Have never taken a salmon bear, but no doubt it would be different.

Barren ground grizzlies are the smallest of the species, so you don't need a mega-magnum to kill one; your .308 is as good as anything, but you knew that. IMHO, no bear that's been eating seals, sea weed, or scavenging dead whales is fit to eat, although that's a personal prejudice. Hope the fog clears for you soon, we've been clear here.
