Barrie IPSC 3 Gun Vids(Scores now posted)

Nice Vids! Barrie is such a nice gun club with those huge berms and grass surfaces.

Heads up - though, start placing rifle targets out farther if you're going to shoot the three gun sidematch at the nationals next year.
Jimmy doesn't believe in rifle targets closer than 50m. Storm knows what I'm talkin' about... :D

There is a three gun side match at the Nationals!!

E GADS!! We were thinking of taking my wifes car to the East coast.

Looks like it will be another trip for the Magnum!! Gonna have to haul more gear!

Wholly crap dude:eek: Did I say I was shooting off the bench? I don't have a sling on my AR, I really don't see a need for it, it should be in your hands if your using it, no?

Who said anything about being terrified? Reading comprehension skills need a little work I think. So setting a firearm down with the bolt open and safety engaged in now "poor or illogical handling habits", think about it. So you would leave a loaded firearm on a bench while other people are using the range around you? Even if there is no one immediately present, someone else.......ah never mind, obviously you know more about gun safety than i do!

I apologize for the snappy response, was a bad night. I have to ask, why not sling the rifle instead of laying it down? You have a a holster for your pistol yes, a sling is to a rifle as a holster is to a pistol. The sling helps when you transition to your handgun.

Why unload the rifle to lay it down? All firearms are treated as if they're loaded so where would the difference in handling habits be if the rifle were left loaded? Your previous post mentioned laying the rifle down to use the spotting scope on the next bench. This would lead me to believe you're shooting from the bench.

Short of going down range(standing in front of your hardware) or shooting next to some sketchy folks, I don't see the logic in unloading your firearms. The square range rules that so many live by are designed for the lowest common denominator with regards to firearms handling. I find it odd that many have no issues with an individual who bump fires a rifle or shoots rapid strings of unsighted fire from handgun, but the thought of a loaded pistol in a holster or a loaded rifle slung is somehow ignorant or more dangerous.

Firearm safety has everything to do with how you operate with and around firearms. It has nothing to do with the state or condition of the firearm. In every case of negligent discharge who is at fault, the firearm or the idiot behind the trigger? Last time I checked there were zero cases of a firearm loading itself and seeking a target without the assistance of a human.

Sadly there are very few.

EESA generally hosts one in the spring......

Barrie hosts one in the spring and the fall.

EOHC hosted one once but that was years ago...

I would like to see the Mega Match idea take shape.........but I give it about a 30% chance.

Its similar here as well. I would hazard a guess at maybe 10 a year province wide.
