i was looking for a scope and seen a brand called barska and was wondering if anyone had used one or know if their good or bad, please leave your opinion.

I bought the one they recommend for the sks..... it crapped out midway through a tac rifle match. the cross hairs were damaged and a ring on the eye piece fell off...... 120 rounds from being brand new out of the box.
model ; barska 4x21AO
it's the only barska i've ever used..... for what it's worth, I may have got a bad one i dunno, they do seem popular for the sks rifles.

Several years ago I bought a Barska "tactical" 6-24x 44mm scope. I have only ever had it mounted on a Colt HBAR via a carry handly mount, and my 300 win mag.

I will never buy a Barska scope again, the paralax adjusment is terrible, and it's nearly impossible to get the crosshairs crisp. Not only that, but even on the "infinity" setting, the max range you can focus on a target is around 250 metres. The adjustment knobs are sloppy, and the adjustments themselves are inconsistent.

My 300 Win mag has only been scoped with the Barska. It's been wearing it for the last 2 years, because I've been busy spending my money on other toys instead of a new scope. However, I have no idea if the scope is reliable or not, or if the gun is pooched, because it shoots all over the place. Sometimes it's wide open, 8moa groups. Other times it will put 4 shots into a space the size of a nickel, then print the 5th 6" off.

My advice, if you don't want to go high end with your scope, go with a Bushnell.

Cheers.

Don't waste your money on something like that. Save up a few more pennies and invest in a decent scope. So many new shooters waste money buying cheap stuff, then upgrading later. Be patient and wait until you can get something you will use for a long time.

I have nothing to add to the contrary. I bought one years ago as a cheap solution for a varmint rifle and I would have been better off spending the money on beer... I have spent my last nickel on cheap optics.

It takes a wealthy man to buy cheap scopes. Smart money buys good quality because you only do it once.

Between a couple of buddies and I we have bought almost every type of cheap, Chinese E-Bay special glass out there NcStar, ZOS, XD Optics, Fake this and copy that. Our conclusion : XD optics was the best ( OK glass and repeatable turrets ) and Redhead ( Bass Pro own brand ) the worst ( build quality of an allotment shed ) with the remainder falling between those two points of reference. Honestly, you should pass on cheap glass - do what everyone says and save your money. If I were doing it all over again I would start with the Falcon Menace and then go up from there once you decide what you really want to do with the sport. My personal preference is for the Elite 4200 and Elite 6500 series scopes from Bushnell and if you have the money then there are legions of shooters who will recommend Leupold, Nightforce etc but whatever you do, don't waste money on junk - you can't use it and you can't re-sell it.

I had a Barska 4-16x50 and it broke. All of a sudden the sight picture was blurry. I did lots of leg work trying to contact Barska for warranty and they just gave me the "run around" , or out right ignored me !

I hope they go bankrupt and all loose their jobs..........

Total garbage...... and customer service is even worse ! ...... Don't buy one !

Wow , look at all the bad feedback!!
I have 2 Baska scopes and have never had any problems with either of them ! Personally I do not think theres anything wrong with them . If you want to spend 150 bucks and thats all you have then they are good! I dont have 500 dollars for a scope so the Barska was in my range! It all depends on how far you want to shoot I guess , I never really shoot more than 150 yards anyways so these scopes are great!

I have 3 of them, 2 airgun ones I use on rimfires: 2-7x and a 3-12x, and I have a 6-24x that I use on my Savage Mako .22 rifle. Thus far, zero issues, though I am using them only on rimfires. Cannot comment how they react on higher powered rifles, but for a rimfire gun, I totally reccommend one. I just wish they had one with a fine recticle, haven't seen one as of yet.
