Savages are scary accurate out of the box. My 11 package deal that I haven't gotten around to bedding yet does 1/2 inch at 100m (it's a .243). Not bad for a gun bought on a whim.

Shoot your M14, I did in my very first BCRA precision match. had a 4x power scope on it an elcan of all things. and guess what, I did not place last! probably the most fun I had at any of the matches I attended.
shoot what you got, save your money, see what people are using on the line and make a choice after of how simple or how gucci cool of a rig you want.
positional shooting is huge, give Longshot a 1022 and he will still place near the top.

its a good thing we have people on here...if it is anything like the 710 qualty wise i would back out now...my friend had on that had three misfires in a row...i can see one every oce in a while but he is scared to look at one again
