I see TMSA has at least one new range active now (Range 10) very cool, you guys have really made the most of your mountain. Looking forward to the match, but have a couple questions.
1) where is the AGM being held?
2) where are the dinner and awards banquet being held (probably same as #1?)
 
Squadding and Work Schedules have been finalized and are posted to the Match Website. Competitors can pick their Shooter Packages at the range on Friday afternoon.

After burning myself doing work up at the range, I'm starting to become interested in shooting again. :) Looks like this weekend is going to be another scorcher, though.
 
Looks like a great match, what software are you folks using to come up with the COF images and instructions??? It's very nicely done!
 
It's really too bad this is the same weekend as the Quebec provincials, but I guess there are only so many long weekends available for these matches... :(

That would be the work of HungryBeagle himself, he's just too modest to claim credit.

All these BC guys are really modest, polite, and self effacing guys.

Then I vote we should have a long weekend for every weekend of the summer.
Someone bring that up with Mr. Harper ok?

Yeah. Alberta and Ontario Provincials are usually on the same (Canada Day) long weekend as well. A few of us out west have been discussing the idea of trying to shoot the Ontario Provincials on the Friday, travel on Saturday, and then shoot the Alberta Provincials on Sunday on the way home.

Would require some serious pleading with the Match Directors to make work, but sure would be interesting.

For the stage diagrams we use an Open source 3d-modelling program called Blender. The program has a pretty steep learning curve (just like any 3d modelling program) but I had to learn it when some of my IT students were exploring 3d modelling and animation. It was the only program that we could run on a 386 with 64MB of RAM. :D

The program has grown by leaps and bounds since then, but is still only about 3MB installed.

I'm still trying to wonder why it's on a long weekend. I'm guessing the 3rd day is so staff / volunteers can clean up and maybe finish up with scoring?

but from a competitors standpoint. using a long weekend for a 2 day event is a HUGE waste.
 
3rd day is usually for people to travel home, as competitors come from all over and usually don't want the rush of heading back to work/home for Monday morning.
the match looks like it's going to be top notch, the Thompson guys always put on good stages.
I am really looking forward to Saturday though, I work from 7pm Friday night till 7am Saturday morning. Then drive for an hour to Thompson and work all day. Drive an hour home, sleep and then drive back again on Sunday to shoot. I don't think I am going to bother sticking around for the meeting or anything on Saturday.
 
You can just show up on Saturday if you know your squad / work schedule. The stickers for your score cards are in the shooter package, though, as well as your dinner ticket (for Saturday) and banquet ticket (for Sunday).

There's also the match booklet with some last minute news/additions.

just finished cleaning my gun and loading another 100 rounds of ammo (just in case). I have never been so frustrated with a press as I am with this ####ing Dillon RL1050 piece of ####. out of 130 rounds thrown, 30 had no primers, 5 were mishapen, even though I know I seated the bullets properly. I have never had to use a case guage on my ammo before this press, ever, and I've never had this many problems with my RCBS Pro2000. In fact all the problems with the Pro were operator error. This piece of crap seems to just like to make things ####ed up. especially the primer feed system, what a stupid setup that is. I'd give my right nut for a auto indexing Pro 2000 with a case feeder.

Anyhow, it was a really fun match. Different than Ontario, though. Where the hell were the patches? And what is this tape stuff? Weerd!

But geeze, all these Nancy BC guys "It's 26 degrees with a humidity of 55%! I'm melting!"

Seriously, though: Great match, guys. Well done, and EVERYONE was done on time! Holy fartin' arseholes!
 
Dan lies. It was 28 degrees. I laughed, I cried, I was delirious from the heat.

Stats are posted, both on the Match Website and on the IPSC BC Website. I'm working on submitting the results to IPSC right now as well.

All week, I was disinterested after spending the last couple of weeks doing setup and match prep and such. I've taken the gun to the range once since the Nationals. My interest level improved considerably after shooting the first couple of stages. The stages were a good challenge, but not disgustingly hard for a newer shooter.
 
congrats to the above HungryBeagle, he finally won 1st place!!!! Well deserved, now if he can just keep supplying his competition with ammo he might do it again ;) (if you were there you'd know what I am talking about).
Actually HB shot an amazing match, I had the pleasure of watching him shoot two stages and as a result copied him and did quite well on them.
Congrats to Don L. for winning Standard, he's a friggin machine, and of course congrats to Team Darkside (and I am going to change that name Clint) for winning Production. The Nats, the Provincials, and of course the Provincial Overall, a damn good year you bastard!
The stages didn't look that hard at first, but goddamn once you actually started shooting them they were freakin difficult. I've never had so many ####ups in a match, ever. I don't think anyone in my squad had either. These stages really tested your skill, memory, and ability to think on your feet. A big thanks to the stage designers, you did a great job.
 
So that's where all the Lady prod shooters are hiding!!! 8 OF THEM!?!?!?!? Yiihaaa!!

####, Nats next year are going to be interesting!!!! :D :D :D :D
