Went to the place I've been hunting ever year for the past 6 years and all the roads into the old cut blocks have been freshly deactivated. Not the old style deactivations with small ditches across the road or maybe a berm across, we are talking using Rippers on the back of bulldozers going down the lengths of the road for at least 100-200m. Making it very hard for people with disabilities to get into these spots as you can no longer drive into them. They just started doing this earlier this year.

More people on the back roads means more fires.
About five years ago, a very popular road in our area was given the same treatment, but they didn't just tear up a few hundred meters. They tore up a few kilometers and repeated the process at all the access points to the road.
It's still accessible to quads and dirtbikes or shank's mare, but it's impossible for most 4x4s most of us run.
We're going to see a lot more of it.
Might be trying to hide so much deforestation as well by blitzkrieg logging practices????

IMO, They are also doing some of it in part to conceal the damage left behind after logging. I hiked into into one of my spots last week, and saw that it was selectively logged and mutilated last winter; then the road in was bulldozed and chopped up for about 500 meters.

This is all about control with our current corrupt & tyrannical NDP Government. They do not want BC tax payers to have access to any crown land.
No camping, means no fires, no access means no hunting and firearms will no longer be needed in their twisted minds....

I noticed the same road deactivation yesterday in areas that were accessible for over 30 years. Not anymore I'm afraid.
Soon there will be no crown left in BC to access period. There won't be much crown land left after EBY is done giving the province away to the indigenous folks, and what is left will be deactivated to everyone......
Make no mistake, this is by design, it's all about control.....

The B.C. Ministry of Forests regulates road deactivation and Ravi Parmar (who's 31 years old and has Zero experience with anything forestry related) is the man appointed by David Eby to be B.C.'s Minister of Forests.
Might come as a shock to some, but forest companies/contractors don't wander out in the bush and spend vast sums of money and time deactivating roads so they can "conceal the damage".
They do as they're told by The Ministry.
As community destroying as it would be, sometimes i feel forestry/heavy industry should just close up shop here in B.C. for a decade. All the tree huggers and self-described 'environmentalists' can get a real taste of an economy minus it's economic engine. Then, all the retired, indexed-pension folks can enjoy fighting over access with natives.
I mean, screw young families and the working class right? Who needs them?
