BC really tearing up old logging roads

Didn't take long for the propaganda to show up. Many of us on here have seen a half century of poor forestry management practices that have come back to haunt us now. As per some other posters-the entire program is about control and keeping people out of the woods, not access.
There is a location not far from me that has a small patch of forest that is "being managed" by a specific "interest group". It actually looks pretty good. Lots of signage promoting the project. The same interest group logs further up the drainage route, and the areas are a mess , primed and waiting for the next lightning strike. ymmv.

The B.C. Ministry of Forests regulates road deactivation and Ravi Parmar (who's 31 years old and has Zero experience with anything forestry related) is the man appointed by David Eby to be B.C.'s Minister of Forests.
Might come as a shock to some, but forest companies/contractors don't wander out in the bush and spend vast sums of money and time deactivating roads so they can "conceal the damage".
They do as they're told by The Ministry.
As community destroying as it would be, sometimes i feel forestry/heavy industry should just close up shop here in B.C. for a decade. All the tree huggers and self-described 'environmentalists' can get a real taste of an economy minus it's economic engine. Then, all the retired, indexed-pension folks can enjoy fighting over access with natives.
I mean, screw young families and the working class right? Who needs them?

We need a well regulated industry, not the complete desolation of thousands upon thousands of hectares with no one repairing the damage.

Our region looks more like a war zone.

Several years ago, the NDP put the onus on the companies/corporations to replant and not log riparian areas.

One quick drive will soon show that they've mostly just razed the forest, then moved on to another forest, completely ignoring their responibility to reclaim the area and replant.

There are vast areas in our region that were cut over a decade ago, and not one seedling has been replanted.

I'm not against "responsible" logging or industry.

The logging industry in BC is cutting it's own throat. You say they should pull out for ten years. Well don't hold your breath because it's already happening, and it's going to take a long time to recover those long gone forests, ponds, small lakes, and streams that were wiped off the face of the earth with irresponsible forestry practices.

The real irony is that they won't be able to access the natural fires to put them out. Works both ways. Stupid.

Funny enough, BCWFS contacted us about firing in a couple fire-break lines through our property this season. It amounts to some 25 or so truck loads of saleable timber.

FWIW, Riley Creek Fire. A fire that went essentially nowhere, until a month after it was lit off, and turned into a poo-show as a result. Just over the ridge from me. I called it in less than ten minutes after the lightning strike.

Am REALLY not impressed with the BCWFS, as I have strong opinions, about whether their main policy manual was written by retards, or is being read by retards ! Maybe both.

All the folks I have met at ground level, are f*cking Rock Stars!, IMO, and too many of them have expressed that they thought that BCWFS was less interested in putting fires out than 'managing' them

This is all about control with our current corrupt & tyrannical NDP Government. They do not want BC tax payers to have access to any crown land.

No camping, means no fires, no access means no hunting and firearms will no longer be needed in their twisted minds....

BC NDP idiots are the worst wildlife managers in Canada..........

I noticed the same road deactivation yesterday in areas that were accessible for over 30 years. Not anymore I'm afraid.

Soon there will be no crown left in BC to access period. There won't be much crown land left after EBY is done giving the province away to the indigenous folks, and what is left will be deactivated to everyone......

Make no mistake, this is by design, it's all about control.....
