While strictly speaking this is not a post about precision riflles, it does have a vicarious association, so I'm hoping the mods will grant it clemency...
In BC, we have formally adopted the F-Class Factory/Sporter class in all but the Provincial CHampionship matches!
What does this mean? It means that if you are interested in trying prone shooting competition with your factory Savage, Remington or Tikka and you really don't have the first clue where to start, these are a great match for you!
Here is a quick overview of the technical rules...
The Spirit and intent was to allow people with unmodified factory rifles the opportunity to get involved with competition using what they owned - not having to spend thousands. There are exclusionary criteria for single shot, for purpose built target rifles like the Savage F-Class guns etc.and for 40X models etc.
Any bolt action caliber up to 338 LM - no brakes allowed! (rug. #1 and TC Encore are acceptable)
12 pound max weight with all attachments
Factory barrel unmodified
Factory action and trigger (may be adjusted)
Any stock, may be bedded
bipod OR front rest or shooting bag
rear bag
no rear monopods
any sight: iron, scope, dot, etc.
10 shot strings, not 15's
Shoot at the larger TR target (1 MOA) not the .5 MOA F-Class target
All our matches will welcome you with your factory sporter! For those dabbling about taking their game to the next level, or wanting to more about precision shooting, come and see what people are using! See what wins!
This is a good place for the Savage vs. Remington debate to be solved once and for all!!
If you have any questions or would like to know more, email me (NO PM's!!) however, manners count... crackberry messages with no name or greeting are ignored.
I hope to have this up and running on the bcrifle.org website fairly soon along with the finalized shooting schedule!
Cheers,
Ian
