Ok, here is the update of my transfer time from a local Vancouver dealer to me. There was a hiccup during the whole process, however, its still only took 7 days total. Whole detail are below.
March 25th - Called BC CFO and asked how to apply for LTATT. She basically just asked my info and told me to fax or email in a copy of shooting range club application or membership and it should be done within couple days. Faxed in my copy of PCDHFC membership application PLUS LTATT application form. Fax number I used is (604) 575-1241. (This may be what caused the hiccup as I called BC CFO earlier regarding ATT application and she told me to fax to 1-888-895-9955 or email to
cfpcfounit@rcmp-grc.gc.ca. Being a smart ass, I didnt know where that 1-888 number is to so I think if I fax directly to BC CFO Office's fax number, the process may be faster. It turns out I was wrong, will explain later.)
March 27th - Called BC CFO and trying to confirm they have received my LTATT application via the fax. They can't find it in their system and told me usually it will show up in their system in around 24 hours of the application being faxed. She told me I should call back the next day or maybe after the Easter long weekend. That afternoon I went to a local gun shop to just look around. Found out M&P 9mm range kit I wanted has increased in price so I decided I should buy it before the price got bumped again. So this is the day my transfer started.
April 2nd - I called BC CFO again to see if they've got my LTATT application and also asked how long it will take for my transfer. Surprisingly, the LTATT is still not showing up on their system, however, there is record of transfer application in their system. So I asked how come it takes so long and confirmed with her that the fax number (604) 575-1241 I used is correct. She told me that fax number is WAY back logged and told me I should fax to 1-888-895-9955 or email them. She again told me I dont have to send them a copy of my application, all details are in their system already. All they need is a copy of my membership application. She also said she will prefer I use email as they are trying to cut down on paper work as much as possible. I then asked about the transfer and STATT for the M&P 9mm I bought. She told me once my LTATT is done, the transfer and STATT should be done at the same time. After I hang up, I email them my copy of PCDHFC membership application.
April 3rd - I received the LTATT via email in the morning.
April 4th - Trying to call BC CFO again to inquiry about my transfer in the morning. Waited about 20 minutes and no one answer the phone so I gave up. Just after lunch, lo and behold, the dealer called me and said the transfer is done and STATT is there so I can pick up the gun anytime I like. Went to the store and saw the transfer and STATT was actually done on April 3rd which is the same day I got my LTATT. Looks like BC CFO kept her words.
So total transfer time for me is 7 days. I wonder if I didn't mess up my LTATT application, maybe it will be even faster? No?
