bc transfer time

I'm on week 3 also for a Buckmark from Reliable Gun in Vancouver. I've been calling in every other day since the start of week 2. My last pistol was in Feb and it took 8 business days.

I called the 1-800 number after 3 weeks..got it approved on the phone...nice lady named Arlene. No, I shouldn't have had to wait this long, but once I had her on the horn I figured being a d**k would get me nowhere.

Reported time off this thread varies greatly from 2 days (like mine) to several weeks. Can folks provide more detail so we can understand the discrepancies.

For my transfer:

Type: Private from ON to BC
Firearm: Revolver
Club : Yes, POCO
First time: No, many over last couple of years.
Request/Transfer date: Mar 25/Mar 27
Total business days: 2 days
Phone in to complete: No, planned to call after two weeks.

Took another two business days to be sent in the mail from Surrey to Burnaby BC but not counting that.

After waiting 14 weeks from the time the CFC recieved my application to upgrade to RPAL in Miramichi until I received it I was prepared for a long wait for my first transfer. Bought a pistol last Thursday and initiated transfer. Also applied for my LTATT on the same day. Received a call from the shop yesterday that I'd have to contact CFC to confirm the transfer, waited on hold for 45 minutes, then compleated transfer and was told LTATT was in the mail. Picked up my pistol after work last night. Three working days. I'm so happy, if I wasn't wearing pants, it'd be all over my chin.

Took me just 3 days to complete the transfer for sale from Ontario to BC, but now I've been waiting for 2 and half weeks for the opposite direction - bought the gun from BC. And yes, both are private sales.

So how many people have made a complaint?

I had a meeting with my MP last week. His biggest issue is that there aren't enough of us making official complaints to make anyone notice the problem.

I sent a formal complaint in late march. I haven't heard any response yet.

Two business days and less for some folks, nothing to reasonably complain about. Don't know why the discrepancy of long waits for some. Asked folks to post details but few has.
