So I'm thinking about getting a semi auto ar-10 platform for hunting. I'm at this moment torn between the BCL 102 mk7 and the Stag-10. I'd very much like to put my own together which the Stag-10 would be perfect for(Been reading the sticky thread). Be able to customize etc.. But I really like the price point these BCL's are coming in at. Anyone on here have experience with both platforms? Would love to hear some of the thoughts of owners of them before I pull the trigger on one.

STAG-10 hands down, stay away from BCL like plague.

I realize the iterations before this new one had some problems but does the new Mk7? I'm having a hard time finding any info on the new Mk7's and their quality or a range report. They still made in Canada?

I'd say Stag 10 as well. That's coming from a guy that's got a 2nd or 3rd gen 102 that had the ejection issues, until I rebuilt the bolt with their 2nd or 3rd rendition of a bolt parts kit that is. No other issues with mine and it shoots good too. But, I'd still say stag10

BCL MK7, just bought a receiver set on sale for 550$ and need to justify the purchase to myself

I have a stag 10 faxon 6.5 creedmoor
BCL Gen1 .308 faxon
BCL MK7 .308 Ballistic Advantage

SFRC 15% off sale...was actually 496$. Couldn't resist, was thinning the ar10 herd out but wanted to try the mk7 receivers out lol

I went with the BCL MK7 in black from SFRC on sale.
I bought some barnaul 308 ammo. The mk7 picks it up from the mag and chambers it properly.
I have never fired the gun, just trying it out.
When I pull the mk7's charging handle the second time, the cartridge does not get extracted and another cartridge gets jammed in with the 1st cartridge.
I am thinking this means I have a defective extractor??

Bad extractor or excessive headspace. There was another guy on Reddit having this problem.

Are you using dummy rounds or live rounds?
Are you letting the charging handle go when you chamber the first round or are you riding it home? Make sure you just let it go, if you ride it that first round may boot be fully chambered.

Who cares. The stag 10 is more without a history of extremely bad customer service and even worse build quality.

The guy on Reddit would chamber a round and he could pull the trigger. The firing pin wouldn’t hit the primer. He then had to tap the live round out because the extractor wouldn’t grab the rim.
