has tried the Austrian ball , please let me know how it shoots, or the Fed Ball, before I buy ammo in greater batches knowing
the grouping would be a big help. Has any one shot Norinco ammo in these rifles?

I too am really interested to see how this rifle handles Hirtenberger ammo.
 
The groups with the PPU at 200 meters was twice as tight as the group with PPU at 100 meters? what happened there?
Honest to god for cheap ass ammunition, I would be pretty damned happy with that group at 200 meters out of a semi auto shooting off a bipod (aside from shooting high obviously because it was sighted in with a heavier projo).

Looks really attractive.
Really makes me hate the rules we have to abide by here in Canada more, though. You can take a Ar102 wherever you want but your restricted to take basically the same rifle, that shoots a way smaller bullet(ar15), only to a range.

Good morning,

Some times ammo settles in at longer ranges, while staying loose at shorter ones. The .303 British is anecdotally known to be one of those rounds, at least when it was the standard round for British military use.

If I were to guess it's because when he switched to the PPU at 200 he stopped using the ammo boxes as a rear bag and actually got behind the gun.
 
It can also be he was just warming up. If I haven't shot a rifle for a long time I need a few warm up rounds to get back into my groove.
 
I would say with a 1-10 twist, this rifle is most likely going to shoot that FED premium 168 the best. Id like to see it shot from a bench with a high quality trigger at 200 and 300 yards. I have a feeling the results will be much better.

Not the greatest, but decent review ...

What do we think the availability of replacement barrels will be ? even aftermarket for that matter ... id like to see how far a shop could take this platform. It will only be a matter of time IMO

Not uncommon at all. Although 100 yards seems to be the benchmark for accuracy testing and can be correct a high percentage of the time personal experience has shown me a few times where 100 yard results don't translate further down range. Some projectiles have not yet fully stabilized by the time they reach 100 yards.
For me to get a true idea of the accuracy of any given rifle/ammo/my shooting ability combination, I always do a couple warm up group at 100 yards until I have a feel for things then I move to my 200 yard target for my final accuracy analysis and sight in's.
I think the standard for 100 yard testing is because shooter error is less evident, thus becoming less of a factor in the accuracy results. Just my two cents worth.

The groups at 200 were tighter with PPU probably by pure luck.

Guns are not known to get more accurate with distance...

Although, I am sure we all "that buddy" whose gun shoots 1 inch groups all the way from 100M to 500M.
