BCL 102 stripped receiver set thread

So neither the UBR Gen11 or the rifle length buffer tube I had in stock would capture the buffer retaining pin.

Could take some material off buffer tube/reciever extension flange to capture.

Has anyone come up with minimal machining solution?

Yes it runs just fine without the retaining pin.

I just chucked mine in the lathe and machined a bit of the face off of the flange. If you don't have access to equipment, it can probably be done fairly easily with a file.

I have the following sitting in checkout at a sponsor.
Any obvious incompatibilities that anyone sees before I pull the trigger ?

Going for a medium weight build:

Daniel defence ar15 lower parts kit ex trigger, comes with magpul plastic trigger guard

Faxon match-series-20”big-gunner-6-5-creedmoor-416r-5r-nitride-nickel-teflon-extension

faxon-308-6-5-creedmoor-full-mass-bolt-carrier-group-complete-nitride

VG6 Precision Gamma 762

Superlative Arms Adjustable Gas Block Bleed Off - Solid, Melonited

jp-enterprises-gen-2-silent-captured-spring-builder-kit-w-alt-spring-pack

BCM GUNFIGHTER Charging Handle (7.62mm/.308) Medium latch

Magpul -ubr-gen2-collapsible-stock

Magpul MOE-K Grip

How much needs to come off? Thousandths or something more significant? I assume this is off the shoulder of the extension?

If you opt for the JP Silent Captured Spring you won't have to worry about modifiying the reciever extension as the buffer retainer is redundant.
The spring can't go anywhere.
That is a very good point !!! With the captured spring there is nothing being held under tension by the retainer, as the unit is sitting there as a single “cartridge”, there is no additional tension to hold back. I think that I just have to ensure the JP spacer in the A5 buffer tube is cut to the correct length.

Did some good family day gun work today and cleaned up some old parts and the back of the safe. Decided I am going to sell a few things to pay for new parts for this. Took a Geiselle trigger out of my stag Ar15 lower and put the original trigger, a2 stock and rifle buffer components back on it.

Leaves me a Geiselle SSA trigger group, a 1st Gen UBR stock and a MIAD grip for the 102.

So up for sale soon a stag factory built lower with A2 stock, a New in the box(tube) 14.5” Daniel defense mid length barrel with pinned factory gas black and a matching unused DD BCG.

I thought I had heard those PWS tubes didn't work with the 102. Don't suppose you can clarify that.

The pws tube I had for a DPMS Gii didn’t work with the GII. But.. that’s a very different firearm. Unfortunately with AR308 rifles it’s often uncertain what will work.

I have collected some parts that I think will work from the back of the safe (as noted above) but have decided to play it safe and not buy any new parts until I actually get the receiver set and see what it looks like and what new “features” may impact parts fitment
