Gotcha, I guess my dilemma is where to source the appropriately sized pivot/takedown pins from anyone other BCL (I don’t want to use ANY of their parts for my stripped receiver) .

Just got an email from BCL, they will be sending me new pins. So I guess they shoud've been .248 :)

Ill hold off the reaming until I get the new pins.

confirmed today the the DPMS 308 firing pin retaining pin does not fit the BCL BCG.

I have the JP 308 pin on the way hopefully that one fits but will post once I know/.

Strike 43 for BCL... haha

Im trying to be nice for a friend of mine and upgrading the BCG so he doesnt have issues. But FML its complicated...lol... I almost completed my 2nd BCL102 build . Its pretty much a stock rifle with all the little upgrades I feel are needed to run smoothly.

After these 2 builds, I might start selling my services. " Ian the BCL repair dude "

Im sure my Fulton HP Bolt wont come with a AR15 retaining pin...LMFAO....

Would you expect the whole Fulton BCG to function? Or do you have experience with just the bolt?

I at least have found where I will get my barrel. International Barrels Inc of Chilliwack will start production of 102 barrels in 8 weeks. They are 5r rifled, double hand lapped, match grade, and the best part they are starting at $400.

What trigger that

In a thread in the SFRC dealer forum, some people were claiming the takedown pins on their 102s were so tight they required a tool to take down. Ryan claimed that the tight takedown pins were necessary to make the rifle "not an AR" and that they were a distinguishing feature that made the 102 non-restricted. Despite every rifle including my own from gen 1 not having the takedown issue.

just disguising more manufacturing defects and mistakes as "features".

i was officially told by Ryan to F-off

looks like you'll still need that reamer if you want toolless takedown

Just shoot it a bit. I prefer the take down pins don’t start loose as they tend to loosen further with use and I hate rattling upper/lowers. Some of my best AR rifles require a slight tap with a tool for take down.

If they are using different sized take down pins this is also nothing new. KAC/LMT also do this vs Armalite AR10. It’s why a KAC/LMT upper will fit on an Armalite lower but the AR10 upper won’t fit on the KAC/LMT lower. Plus the bcl 102 likely has to use the AR 102 specs for the pins. Welcome to the world of AR10/AR308 rifles were some stuff is compatible and a lot isn’t!

My main concern isn’t the tight take down pins but whether or not what I suspect to be non anodized 6061 will elongate the holes after time. Likely only a little bit but only long term will tell. Since BCL hasn’t told us what the specs are it’s a good guess it’s 6061 billet. We know it’s not anodized. I’m not a metal expert but the compression around trigger pin holes and take down seem a possibility over time.
