I think people are equating the fact that the stag costs more, so therefore it must be better quality. That's not always the case though.
Stag's receivers are made of forged 7075 T6 with high quality Type III Hard Anodizing. Stag has been making rifles since 2003 and has a good reputation. Stag has a lifetime transferable warranty and an infinite shot barrel warranty. Stag is 100% US made(every part). Stag has great customer service.
BCL makes its receivers from 6061 T6 coated with low quality Ceracoat. BCL is a start up cobbled together from the remnants of a failed company with an absolutey terrible reputation for quality control and they seam to be no different if not worse imo. If you can even get ahold of them, BCL's warranty is a complete crap shoot as you can see from this thread and many others. BCL doesn't say where all of their parts are made. BCL has some of the worst customer service ever seen in the firearms industry imo.
It isn't very hard to see why people think Stag makes a better quality product(the specs speak for themselves), nor why they cost more. But, you are right, just because it costs more doesn't always mean it is better quality(it's often a descent indicator though).
