I enjoyed my RAR 16.5" .223 when I had it. Can't say anything negative about the rifle except that any AR mag I have had some play in the magwell but functioned fine.
I planned on replacing the oem stock for an MDT chassis and swapping some of my AR parts to it. When the Bison showed up in the store I frequent, plans changed.
Ended up selling the RAR and buying the Bison and other than a extractor replacement it's been great. Also, the trigger in the Bison is nicer!
I have no experience with the IRG offering but at 27" folded it's 4" shorter than my Bison with the stock retracted. Personally, I've never been a fan of folding stocks ymmv.
The Bison is a few hundred $$ cheaper and I like the fact that BCL is making 20/20rnd mags for the it. I prefer my Bison.....

The bison looks and handles amazing but...... It lacks in the accuracy department. I can deal with 2-3 MOA groupings out of a semiauto black rifle but when it comes to a bolt action it better be sub moa or its gone. The bison struggles to get below 1.5MOA, where the RAR has no issues dropping below 1 MOA. I am currently sitting around .33MOA with my RAR shooting 68 grain hornady BTHP handloads.
