Hey Guys;
Well, what can I say, other than I like this rifle!
I picked it up yesterday from SFRC and put an Elite 6500 1.25-8x32 on it with a GG&G 35M QD mount and headed to the range today.

Now before we get started, I will freely admit that I am not a great shot and the stock trigger definitely needs to be replaced, it's typical AR15 factory bad, chuckle.
Today I tried 7 different types of ammunition.
They were;
Hirtenberger Surplus
Norma Match 168 grain
FNM 80-7 NATO ball surplus
R1M1 ball surplus
Hirtenberger 165 grain soft point
Federal 150 grain soft point
Federal 180 grain soft point
I also had MFS and Chinese ammo with me, but ran out of time to try them.

I bore sighted the rifle & used Hirtenberger to get close @ 50m & took it out to 100m. Once I adjusted to be just high of the point of aim, I switched to Norma Match.

And then fired a couple more groups with the Norma Match.

Groups with the other ammo varied. The ONLY ammo it did not like was FNM 80-7 NATO ball. It failed to fully extract & eject the spent case prior to trying to chamber a round. It did this 3 times in two 5 round mags. I thought it might be the IMI mag I was using @ the time, so I stayed with the mag to eliminate it as the cause. I continued to shoot the other 6 types of ammunition with no issues. 100 plus rounds fired in total.
Here's a rapid fire group with a bunch of R1M1 ball surplus.

If you're using XCR-M mags you may have to make a minor repair to the spine of the mag on the left side because the specs between batches of XCR-M mags seems to vary in this location. With my rifle & the XCR-M mags, the bolt release hit this edge and prevented the bolt from being released on some of them. A quick dremel fix solved the problem. Similarly if BCL was to put a radius on the bottom left side of the bolt release which pushes down on the mag follower, the issue would be resolved.
I've had a couple folks message me with concerns over modifying mags 'to fit'... Just for the record, the XCR-M mags FIT AND FUNCTION fine with the BCL-102 untouched.
Fixed mag on the left, untouched mag on the right.

Here's all 5 of my XCR-M mags after I fixed them so the bolt release clears that left edge on the mag's spine.
