BCL102 short stoking whit new barrel

Was out shooting mine yesterday and it was working fine with my 180 grain hand loads and the temp was around zero/-1
As the temp dropped it started having short stroke issues but I also started using 150 grain handloads as I ran out of my other ones
Not sure if the cold combined with the lighter bullets is the problem or just the cold?
I had it lubed up lots with the super lube too
Also noticed a few times that the charging handle was extended after firing so I guess it's one of the ones with the reciprocating charging handles lol

Charging handle was probably being dragged back with the vicious friction.

It's the same thing with running guns dry in the arctic. Making sure there's no oil on the firing pin. Thick oil causes drag, slows things down.

Once the temps drop, my guns go dry with only the slightest film on high friction surfaces.

i use extreme low temp light grease its start to thicken at -120 and i put a light coat on the bearing surfaces

so far i have try H and H2 buffer whit 2 different carbine springs .colt can rifle buffer and spring .h1 an h2 buffer whit a cut off spring the gun is clearly under gas brass landing on my feet when it eject so my best guest is a under size gas port for the rifle length gas system whit 18.5 in barrel resulting in a to short dwell time .

You can always enlarge the gas port if you have (or have access to) a set of numbered drill bits. A #41 should give you the correct .096" gas port size.

the gas port is aligned i have check it 3x so fare and put witness mark before i shoot it is touching the shoulder and i have a pretty center gas deposit on the barrel so its not that

It is not suppose to touch the shoulder and must have a space (the width of a credit card) for the Handguard end cap. If it’s touching it is partially covering the gas port.

the gas block is center when it touche the shoulder how having a space will make it more center ?!

You must move it away from the shoulder and leave a space approximately the width of a credit card. The gas port is strategically drilled for an A2 mil spec hand guard and end plate. This space is for the width of the end place regardless if you use one or a free floating hand guard. If there is no space then the gas port is partially covered.

If you measure the distance from the shoulder of the journal, to the far side of the gas port hole, then measure the distance from the far edge of the gas block, to the far side of the gas port hole, you might find a difference. My gas block was 0.050” shorter than the barrels port, causing the port to be blocked off.

You might be center, but you could be too far back.
