BCM KMR-A rail out

I should have taken pics but I had grease and oils etc on my hands and didn't want to handle my phone. There are 4 nice deep gouges about 1.5" long on the inside walls of my handguard. I don't think it's a big issue right now and hopefully it hasn't weakened the integrity of it. I took an 8oz ball peen hammer and lightly tapped it flat before reinstalling the handguard. Next time I disassemble that AR, I'll definitely pick up that Ti one from CTCS.

For the person who will install and leave it as is, this is a non-issue.

I have also had this happen but as per the installation instructions I filed any protruding material down so it didn't damage the handguard.

I just wish manufacturers who are supposed to be all about no-nonsense stop using the term "aircraft grade aluminum". Hurts my intelligence every time.

They will co-exist in parallel. BCM and Noveske do not need to conform to the big market, they have their fans and their niche. They don't even officially go to SHOT and they are successful companies.

M-lok is cheaper to make and magpul has a lot of relationships with the big boys, so just because of cost the big guys like Remington and Colt USA will go that way. We will see way more M -lok than k-mod in a typical LGS , but I doubt k-mod will die at all. It will continue to exist among those who are fans to the BCM/Noveske camp.
