Ok Shooters, crunch time is approaching.

Get those entries in PRONTO!!!

We hear shooters complaining on how the TR/TR-O/F-Class guys get all the money & attention, so lets buck up and show the BCRA that Tactical/Precision Rifle is here to stay and to be reckoned with!!!!!!

Wouldn't it be better to boycott them...I mean we've been giving them entry money for years now and nothing's happened.

That would be brilliant...:slap: How else do you suppose you will get access to the only 600m range around? Why not get of your arse and get involved to make change happen? The more positions in the BCRA we can fill the better. I don't see anyone chomping at the bit to replace Pitcairn when he steps down as Service rifle director, but there sure as hell are alot of people who whine about how Service rifle is run.

Probably because that would mean that whoever stepped in would still have to deal with all the other guys at the BCRA.Just because one guy is stepping down and another taking his place, doesn't mean the rest of the organization will change.

That is very true Ryan.
However, if you look at the different positions in the BCRA only one of them is occupied by a non TR guy..... How do you suggest we change it? Do you feel it is easier to start another organization, than to work at occupying positions and gaining influence inside the BCRA? Even if you start another organization, where do you suggest you are going to hold matches?

Breaking away and starting new (in my experience anyways) has not been a very successful strategy. Just like a business, better off buying a business with a solid background and history of success, and then changing it from the inside to lean towards current needs. There's always an initial flood of enthusiasm for the "new thing" but after a while, there's usually just a couple of burnt out guys left holding the ####ty stick.

My little contact with these chronies, is that they are not the stuffy old farts I thought. They have put in their time and paid their dues and are just doing what they've always done and enjoyed. They don't seem to have any problem with change, or new disciplines, it's just not their thing and not their job to change it.

I can't complain about a 70-80 year old man (Bisley veteran) who gladly wrestles a 600m target in the rack for me to blast at with a "tactical" rifle.

Exactly my point, Thank you Ian.
I can't complain about a 70-80 year old man (Bisley veteran) who gladly wrestles a 600m target in the rack for me to blast at with a "tactical" rifle. Are you talking about Peter, that guy is hilarious. If us younger guys put the time in, in these positions it will one day be our organization.

The only thing that needs to take place for another organization to use Volkes is insurance. That's why police and military use it all the time. The simple fact is there AREN'T any other organizations trying to get on it.

How much is insurance, have you checked? As far as police using the range ASU Chilliwack range standing orders state "Non-Defence agencies are administered under the Provision of Services Policy and access is in accordance with the Non-Military use agreement." That is how the police use the range, it unfortunately has nothing to do with us. For recreational shooting, we fall under CFAO 29-1 and are under the non-military users agreement, which list the DCRA/BCRA. That one blocks us out too......I've checked on this and it's not as easy as it seems. I am not sure how you could skirt any of those issues.

Rob, I think you just need to call in sick and be done with it. Also don't post pictures of yourself on the internet after, that's how most people get caught.:p
Oh, by the way 15 days left for those that haven't paid, otherwise better break out the suntan lotion for down in the butts.
