BCRA Tactical Rifle rules and Course of Fire 2008

This was my first year and it was awesome. Me and my shooting buddy loved it. Thanks again Mike for the shoot and answering all the little questions. I have a crap load of pics....gigs and gigs worth but I took a few and did some picture stitching and figured that all of you who were at the shoot would enjoy this pic. For those of you not involved and wondering if you should have come, this is what you missed. Someone finally got it right and turned a golf course into a rifle range!

It was my pleasure to be a small part of the Championship:cheers:.

Ian did a great job orgainzing the night shoot, bbq, roofs and all those other things he has worked on in the past months.

Since I was behind the butts I missed seeing the shooters hunkering on the roofs. How did the rule work out that says " you must have all appendages on the roof as if you were actually on a small roof " or do I want to know:rolleyes:?

Mike did a great job running the show and pulling everything together. That man needs a holiday!

Thanks for the great support from all the sponsors. The prize tables were incredible.

Thank you gentlemen for your patience with the noobie scorer. I enjoyed seeing your results at the business end of the shoot. I look forward to being a part of the Championship next year. I will wear the shirt with pride and I will encourage others to be a part of this great event.

Big thanks to Mike, had a great time (again). Also, big thanks to all the other guys who helped out with scoring, the butts, RSO'ing (including Slavex who I noticed did it for a while in between shooting like a ninja). The prize table was awesome, a huge thanks to Wolverine and TSE for the bling prizes I scooped. Also thanks (once more) to VBull for not only building me (another) great rifle, but also for the gift, even if it was spelled 'wrong' ;)
Good shooting alongside Bigmatty, Skullboy, and Slavex, who made sure to always keep it profane and loose, preventing me from taking anything too seriously, which made for some good results. (Though my apologies to those who may have overheard what we were talking about) ;)
I had a great time, I'm ready to do it all again asap.

edit-Rob, I'll grab one of those cds too...

A big thanks to Mike for all his work on the match and support getting myself set up for it. I had a great time, meet interesting and exciting people, and shot with them. To top off the fun I left with some great prizes and bragging rights that may drive the Canadian Scottish Regt to send a Mil team next year.

Also big thanks to my partner, we sure pulled a rabbit out of the hat.

Great shoot Thanks Mike!! Lots of hard work we appreciate it. Lets not forget to thank that BCRA for the match (booking the range, getting target pullers, suppling the liablity insurance to cover the match) With out the BCRA there would be no match.

Next we should plan on increasing the enrollment next year's match by 10% or more. Talk it up guys over the next year.

Also everyone that shot and has a BCRA membership should grab there kit and come out and shoot some F Class. There is a class just for 308 and 223. It is great practice and get them zero's down for next year. July 12-13 is a chanllenge match(practice match) 400-500-600 meters. 60.00 for the 2 days that's to pay for the T pullers. Check the BCRA web site for date or info. www.bcrifle.org

Had a great time too. Big thanks to Mike and of course my partner Big Ed. A lot of knowledge and patience on his part made it fun:D The usual laughs from Slavex and Skullboy and all of us other uncouth volgarians:p Night shoot was a blast. Yes the lit reticle in the NSX is not that user friendly, but was successful with it off. Looking forward to the next one.

My Thanks to Mike and the many other others that made this event a huge success .It was great meeting new people and getting re acquainted with freinds that were made in the past matches.

Just want to say you guy's are all a bunch of dicks for having so much fun without me.:p

Looks like I missed a great one, I envy all of ya. Well done!!

Next year you wont be so lucky, I will be there!!:D:cheers:

Talk is cheap bro. I told you to tell your wife you were working straight through the weekend and everything would have been fine. You had to go get her all excited and then build her a gun to use yet. I've really got to publish my book.

I only had a dozen at the Miller on Thursday night. we had a great turnout for the BBQ on Friday night, and then Saturday night was loooooooooooong. but worth it to do some night shooting.

After last year I knew I needed something that would hold a candle to all of those uber accurate rifles. My gun will probably change again for next year. I have some new ideas brewing but for now, this is it.

I convinced a couple of buddies to pick up some 9mm ammo off the swag table so now I've got a 1000rnds of Ruag to burn through my father's day present.

Well done Troy and Ryan. Great to see your hard work with the rifles and load developement payed off. I had the oportunity to use mine on a gopher colony near the new spread utilizing your load developement work. You guys definately have the combination of rifle and loads down to a fine art.

PS. Troy how is the TP working for you. It's kinda cool to see Danger Deb influence you in your firearms choice, now if you could only get her to give you lessons in come ups and corrections you guys might place 1'st!!;):bigHug::evil::p:D

Did I ever tell you about the time I brought one of my best buddies a house WARMING present?? That night was a real cooker... Thanks for the help on google earth finding the coordinates to your new place. It looks peaceful and out of the way. LOL

I am looking into it, but I think we are going to run a one day regional match on the island on the long weekend in August. It will be on the Sunday the 3rd. One thing of note, as this is not a Championship, just a misplaced regional. You will require the full BCRA/Limited Associate DCRA membership which is $75, if you have already purchased an Associate membership we can just upgrade it for the difference. My thoughts were running matches 1, 2, 4, change match 8 by moving it to 500 and putting it on a pod, 10, and 12. Once that is sorted out we can pass out prizes.

What do you think?
