Be warned

I recently placed two separate orders with West Coast Hunting. On the first order they said there was a problem with my credit card, asked me to verify the number. On the second order I used a different card, they once again called to verify the number.

In both instances, within days of ordering from them and not using the credit cards for any other BC-based stores I started getting fraudulent charges from UberEats in the Richmond area. Just an FYI, might want to avoid giving them information verbally as it seems like an employee might be taking notes...

Hi Northdixie,

Sorry to hear that happened to you. Under this circumstance, we suggest you please do not hesitate to call the police. But first thing first, once you placed an order, only partially credit card information will be shown in our system, we will not leave down any info once we completed the order, with that being said, there are only two reasons worth a phone call: 1. The credit card has been declined. 2. The name on the credit card does not match the billing info. Second, there are only two employees (full-time, more than one year) in the store during the outbreak, and working under video surveillance, it is not worthy to risk ourselves just for one dinner.

I also had a card replaced recently from random Uber eats (I don’t even use their service) but who knows where my info was compromised..

Tap information contains a single number that provider links to your card. It can be copied, iirc, but only used to tap. UE needs full card information, does it not?

Neither of our cards had ever been "tapped" and besides, the scammers used MY WIFE'S card number, and that one hadn't seen the light of day in years.
I don't know how UberEats works.

If you understod Frauds you would know that you are not the victim. The credit card company is and they dont give a rats a$$ about cash that small. The CC company wont spend the money in legal man power to recoup the loss
Therefore the police are cut out of the investigation. In PERSONAL frauds yes the police will and have helped me recoup cost lost in a contractor fraud.

I say this because police will not lift a finger to help with much larger matters.

We had a car stolen. Police did nothing.

A co-worker also had his car stolen, with his cellular phone in it. Police did nothing. After two days of police doing nothing, he did some of his own very limited investigating by way of his phone. He found out the town where his car was, and through cleverness even got the thief's name who was using his phone and car. Only after forwarding that information to serve and protect did they retrieve the car.

Have had ongoing claim with TD visa about an order with Hero Outdoors since April, finally got temporary return, TD fraud called to cancel my card last week about some kind of Google video game purchases. Calling TD Visa now is painful. On the Hero Outdoors file, I probably have 4-5hrs of calls. Never order from Hero Outdoors.

Must be a first timer. That happens all the time when you shop online. Over the last few years I've honestly lost track at how many times that has happened to me more than 10 just happened again last week. First couple times your ticked off and want to bleed the person over a hill of ants you call the credit card company hoping they will join your crusade of rightful vengeance in carrying out your revenge on these people.

Then the card company just asks which of these purchases were yours and starts reading them back once that is done they tell you they will send you out a new card and the fraudulent charges will be removed and thank you for you time then hang up with you. Then they connect to the next call waiting from another person that it happened to and they do this 8hrs a day 5 days a week.

They don't care it happens they just remove the charges and send you a new card and you never hear anything from them. It sucks and makes you mad as hell but after the 5th or 8th time you just don't care anymore cause nothing really happens to you the credit card removes the bad charges and gives you another card.

Last year I think I got 5 or 6 new cards so far this year I'm doing good only twice now so far.

The hundreds of dollars of charges for phone cards and ubereats and stuff makes me laugh and sigh then call the credit card company again it's annoying but your not held responsible or accountable so again it honestly doesn't effect you and not really your problem they don't care so you shouldn't either.

HM, come to think of it awhile ago I got a fraudulent charge for the first time for two Amazon purchases. Lucky my bank noticed and refunded me.

This was after I used my credit card with Zahal. I bought something on the 20th and on the 26th the Amazon charges came.

Doubt it could have been anywhere else. I don't use my credit card anywhere else and my accounts are secure. Also doubt it was a scanner or something didn't use my card anywhere else other than Zahal and it was right after..

I bought my first Tokarev with them, the gun has broken firing pin retainer pin and started to jam after 50 rounds. I took it to them and they refused to exchange, refund, or repair. The shop guy told me "All Tokarev will jam, it is a surplus pistol". And I told this incidence to my friends in the local WeChat group, the owner came out and tried to prove I was the liar. No comment.

And my friend bought a Beretta 92 FS with them, and the magazine only holds 5 rounds.

I just got nailed with thousands in fraudulent charges after purchasing from a reputable and trusted dealer. I wont name them because I don't know who is responsible and it would be unfair to sully their name. Point is, this seems to be a real issue, maybe its time for more EMT payments, although less convenient.

Last month, someone tried to use my Scotiabank CC for a $1200 charge. Luckily, Scotiabank automatically detected fraud and rejected it.

Today, my BMO CC was used for two separate fraud purchases. A $700 purchase, and also a $2 purchase (weird)
This time, it went through

They told me I will have to wait around 100-145 days before the investigation is completed. I'm never buying online again.
Unfortunately, there's a lot of shady people working at gun shops.

^^Holly shoes. Where did you use your CC before these alleged charges occurred?

Did you give donations via CC at a rainbow nude orgy?

I’ve been buying online for years. Amazon, Ebay, etc. And I’ve NEVER had my cards compromised, not even once. And trust me, I was buying stuff every other day.

Got my license 2 months ago, so I started buying gun parts and my card has been compromised twice already.
Other than a pair of shoes at Adidas.ca, ive only been purchasing gun parts during the past 2 months.

Just a coincidence of course.

Unfortunately, I bought from 4 or 5 different retailers, so I can’t definitely say which ones to look out for. However, I do know for certain that it was two different retailers, because I haven’t bought from the same stores after the first incident happened.

TD visa phoned me about bad charges and 4 days later my account was “right as rain” and I had a replacement card. One of those deliver dinner services

Anyone who had this happen should trade information, then call the cops. If it is just a random employee I sort of feel bad for the business owner getting outed like this.

Ha!

My card got skimmed early this year, and it was actually a guy who lives in the same province. (In the past it’s been folks in Europe, the US, etc.) He tried to make a big order of fireworks care of my wife, but delivered to himself. Once I had his name I spent 20 minutes googling and found his past employers, his Facebook, his tattoos, his wife’s medical history, his in-laws name, his home address, everything. So I went and filed a police report thinking it was a slam dunk. Once the cop finally got around to phoning me back about a week later, he was SHOCKED that purchases could be made on a credit card without the criminal physically holding the card.
“So I guess we won’t have any security camera footage of him going into the stores then?”
“Well no, they were all online purchases.”
“Oh. I don’t think there’s much I can do then...”

What a waste of time that police report was...

If you do a quick Google search of West Coast Hunting Supplies it doesn't take long for some news articles to pop up on them doing some illegal and shady things........
