I heard drunk rednecks with ham sandwiches in their pockets works best. You gotta duct tape their mouth shut but leave a hole for a straw so they can suck back their favorite brew. the tape also cuts down on the screaming when the ham gets eaten.
But seriously, have fun and eat or get eaten.

But seriously, have fun and eat or get eaten. Start by putting 2 five gollon pails of oats in a 45 gallon drum which has an 8 to 12 inch hole cut in its side about 1/2 way up the side. Then stir in about 4 gallons of frying oil fron your local eatery, stir in some meat scraps from your butcher friend and then drizzle 2 pints of cooking mollasses overtop and then sprinkle some vannilla extract around your set, chain the barrel to a sturdy tree, and you are good to go.

The mixes I've heard of are similar to Gord's, only they put small holes in the drum so the bear has to roll it around and work for the food, helps it last longer and the buzzards cannot get at it.
They used Oats, honey, molasses and all yummy things a Pooh Bear would love. Donuts too!
I would caution using meat, when it gets rancid the maggots show up way faster if it is warm and eat you out of house and home! Alot of the bears round here will head for the green grass as soon as it starts growing instead of eating that stinky gross meat. Bleah!
i also heard rumor,s......and i do mean rumours .....that if you live in bc
you can spend $$$$ on a tank of gas and drive the roads till you see one...then get out of truck and blast the chit out of said bear...i hear they do this way cause they dont have the patience to hunt a real hunt...

Heres the secret. Donuts in the fall, meat in the spring.
In the fall the bears are looking for fat.period. A 55 gallon drum, 6 dozen day-olds, and your good to go.
In the spring use meat. The bears are A: HUNGRY and B: accustomed to the smell of "winterkill" starting to decompose.

no can not be so......as i i had my first trial of a bear hunt just this last fall.....the bait did not work
so can you give advice to drive till i see one? maybe i try that this year

ya i been reading......between 303 and moose hunter..... damm im gonna learn a lot this year
.. i wish they would post more on how THEY do it....i cant wait for the next episode on how to get a bear like a real man
