no doubt this is the 1,000,000th bear defense ammo thread.
im well aware i can google this stuff
im also well aware i can probably search this forum.

if you would like to meaningfully participate in this conversation, that would be awesome.

if you would like to tell me other ways to acquire this info, or simply advise me that you feel i should not have made this post, please refrain, and simply move on to a convo you feel is more worth of your time. thank you.

for 12ga 500, I have 18.5" CB, and 24" rifled barrels
(also 28" MC, and 30"FC, but i doubt they would be ideal?)
other 12ga's include DA outlaw, 8.5" grizzly tube, 18" FC M12
which 12ga ammo would be ideal for bear DEFENSE. grizzly capable. not hunting. not making long shots and tracking blood. just droppin chargin mamma grizzly at close range, and droppin her NOW.

also, for whatever its worth, I have a lee enfield, a sks, 9mm carbine, 20ga pump, & .410 single, if for some reason you happen to feel somethin down one of them pipes might be ideal.

im thinking the heaviest 3" slug I can find is probably what im looking for?

please advise, and/or provide food for thought.

I wouldnt be worried carrying an SKS in the bush..but its heavy, but 5 quick shots if needed & fun to have with you anyway.{do some target shooting} The 8 inch DA is more compact, I'd take either one of those. & YES! It is bear defense Friday! Yeahhh!

Any quality hunting load from 150 to 215 grains, lead core, get two boxes of Federal Premium or the like and practice with one, carry the other for the next ten years. Rifles and shotguns are in entirely different leagues of effectiveness despite the widespread acceptance in Canada of the 12ga as the ultimate bear tool. Think like a hunter and you're set.

Very few people can aim anything reliably in that scenario.

no machismo here (if that word means what i think it means).
i have legitimate concerns with spray, like upwind bears, bears that wait out of range until my can runs dry, lack of trust in a can, lack of confidence which i fear the bear will sense
