i have this big old grizzly boar that has charged me twice.he only charges when he hears my voice.he has charged when i have been standing on my balcony and another time i was standing outside the house and he come within 37 paces before standing up a staring me down.the grass was real long so i couldnt open my pace out to figure out yards and he didnt run away when i fired 7 30/06 rounds from my garand into the ground in front of him.he is not bothered at all by my dogs.when i spoke to the CO biologist about it he assumed the bear had been habituated to domestic dogs and hated humans.probably a few run ins with berrypickers or whatever.i have IDed the particular animal as 1 that dens up about 7000m from my property and has been hunted extensivly, but has never been taken.in 2000,16 bears where trapped and tagged alone on my road.in fact the biologist said the bears in the valley where a subspeices.he was not taken and has a distinctive light couloured head and relative dark body.anyhoo is it possible that he may have been displaced from his territory.he is very tall but his condition was not great and now i beleive he is about and not going away.i dont see him but the dogs are acting strange, all the game has beetled off and i have had something cracking and smashing abou the woods around the house.i have gone in but the dogs wont come in and until the poplar leaves drop off, visibility is nil.the CO said shoot it if i see it but because i beleive it is staying the area and not being seen,i cant shoot it.should i set traps?
