BEAUTIFUL SKS's !!

I have noticed that rather a lot of posters claim to be "building a gun" when all they are actally doing is buying stuff to stick on it, sometimes they give it a spray job sometimes not. I can't find anything wrong with any of the above, who am I to tell people how to spend their money.
I do sometimes wonder how often these people actually use their dressed up rifles. I strongly suspect they photograph them more than shoot them.

Some nice shorty's...

Here is another:

Looks like even a chin weld isn't possible with this one. I can respect those who like a cool looking gun. I like cool looking guns too but it needs to function well too. This SKS went from cool to #### with the unpractical height of that scope.

Look, it has see though scope rings, no wonder the scope is so high and no wonder the person has the rear sight set so high because he probably can't see it though the rings if its any lower. This is just straight up stupid, not cool.

For most people - yes, but maybe it's 'Bigfoot Silva's' SKS...

Some of the paint jobs are cool, but nothing I would pay for. I'd rather spend my money on ammo. A flashlight AND a scope? What is the point of that? It takes a lot of cash to make a Volkswagen to look like a Ferrari, but its still only a Volkswagen. For the ridiculous money spent to make them look like an AR, you might as well have bought an AR.

An SKS looks and operates better in its original config, IMO. However, they probably look really cool for someone living in their Mom's basement.

Why ya mad bro ?

I always think it is a bit ironic that people claim one of the benefits of an AR is that you can accesorize more than Barbie, yet when it comes to changing an SKS around a bit people all but cry.
If the SKS were rare or expensive I could understand, but these are the equivalent of the Cooey to the communist world.
Keep the pictures coming.

I actually am starting to like the Monte Carlo even.
That AK look a like is amazing.

I am ok with people modifying their refurbished SKS's, but not the non-refurbished... but then again, the less non-refurbished originals there are, the more value the remaining ones will have. Very much like the early Lee Enfield era... they were a dime a dozen, most got sporterized, and the few that were left alone made their owners or future owners very happy down the road. Keep bubba'n guys!!

Oh, I forgot to mention - the "Pffft, these are stupid, why bother" thread is down the hall. please feel free to go while the rest of us just enjoy the cool altered SKS rifles :)

It's not the destination...its the journey.

Then we pick them up off the EE from a "OBO" listing, recoup your cash by selling the accessories separately, then relist or trade bait the restored SKS with a $25 OEM Communist stock (bought off the EE) and pocket $150.
