So I finally got all my accessories for my newly purchased Remington 700 SPS Tactical .223 Rem. So I installed everything and went to zero it in last week and this thing was SH*T. I could have gotten tighter groupings with my AR-15 or my M14 using iron sights. I was practically shooting 2 inch groupings at 50 yards...WTF I thought something had to be wrong.
So, I was cleaning it and noticed the entire barreled action was leaning/tilted towards one side of the Hogue rubber overmold stock...the barrel was actually pressing/making contact with the stock near the muzzed...hhmmm. So I removed the gun from the stock and got a little creative
Inside the stock were the barrel lug fits in, it was all chewed up and non-supportive to the barrels balance. Instead of sending it to a smith (time & money) I "bedded" it using Outer's Cleaning Patches for my .223. It took me about 4 tries to get it perfect, building it up internally so the barrel lug fit super snug and level. Put it back together and torqued that sucker down nice. Went to the range last night with Federal Match King 69 gr. BTHP's and noticed a HUGE difference.....F*ck Ya

Going to head out to Silverdale soon to 100yards & 200yards and see how it performs at some real distances (for the .223 at least
