Bedding release

Hornady One Shot. Easy to apply and no mess or fuss. Works like a charm.
You need to be very careful using this as a release agent. Depending on which composite bedding you're using, it can and does become part of the bedding compound.

It does work with the common, off the gun shop shelf, products, as long as enough is used.

Make sure to spray it onto the screws and holes, both smooth or threaded.

You could always use a proper mold release agent designed for epoxies.... Though I have never actually seen/heard anyone on here doing that!!

All the suggestions are good, I use packing tape, carnauba wax and paraffin wax..... depending

paraffin to fill gaps/holes/key ways/what-have-you .. packing tape over that and a good dose of mother's car (carnauba) wax over the packing tape.

Well, in my opinion, that says it all! I have, for decades, used paste wax with good results. If I have a particularly worrying project, I might apply a couple of coats of paste wax and then apply a film of Vaseline over that. Have yet to glue an action or barrel into the stock.

This is my vote one tin will last you a lifetime was recommended to me by a gunsmith. Couple of coats buffed to a shine gives the bedding a mirror finish.
Good stuff but it hasn't been consistently available. That's why I switched to the Orca Shimmer.

There are all sorts of different mold release agents on the market and even some good home made recipes.

Kwik Kote is a spray on type, which covers the metal in Carbon, but everything needs to be perfectly clean or it seeps through.

Works great for bullet molds.

I used the "proper" mold release supplied by the bedding manufacturer for over 20 years and then found paste wax was better, and used it for the next 30.
Like I said ... never actually heard anyone cop to it ;)
The stuff that comes with acraglas is just a pain and single use - I did buy some aerosol stuff once... did not actually work ... and silly expensive ..

With paste wax I would brush it on with a soft brush everywhere... making sure the area was covered but no lumps or build up... wait ten minutes and very lightly buff/wipe with a soft rag... enough to remove the brush marks... that was usually it unless it was a larger complicated area and then I would just repeat the first application again... and buff/wipe...
