Last night at the Peterborough Trap and Skeet Club, I shot my first 25 straight in trap!
It felt great!! I then followed that up with a 24/25. I missed my 21st bird.

I think I psyched myself out thinking about shooting 50 straight.:slap:

Some great guys ( and a few ladies) there who were very helpful about the basic fundamentals. Great coaching! I joined 8 weeks ago, and never had shot trap before in my life.

If there is anyone in the Peterborough, ON area who wants to give this sport a try, you should come out. It is a blast!

Congrats! It definitely gets easier with some pro-tips and practise
I just started shooting last week, went 14/25, got some tips, then 21 that day. Can't seem to break 22 yet, though.
You can't let the pressure of getting so many in a row get to you or you'll get psyched out every time, approach each shot like it's the very first shot!

good shootin . but be very carefull !!!!!! you could get hooked.
It seems it's already be too late for him, I know it is for me. My weekly beer money is rapidly turning into trap money!

Congrats !! I wish I could've stayed longer Sunday, but I'll be back, hopefully this coming Sunday.
Nice spot, great prices too !.

Thanks to everyone for their kind words of encouragement and congratulations!

To be honest, as soon as I posted this thread, I felt bad for 2 reasons.
1. I felt like I was bragging (which I was), and
2. I know that some have tried much longer than I have to reach that goal, and here I was gloating about it.

A great bunch of people here on CGN, and let's face it, it is nice to share your experiences with someone who can relate. Unlike my wonderful wife who was happy for me, but didn't really have a clue as to what the big deal was about.:p:D

Regards,

James

No worries, if she's anything like my wife, she gets really excited when she saves $150 on a $500 pair of shoes...

I just say: "that's wonderful honey, I guess I can go buy ammo with all the money you saved me" :D

Don't get too cocky Trap can be a very humbling game. It maybe a long time before you see your next 25.

Yup, it often does work something like that !

Just try telling the little gal at Timmy's you just ran 100 straight ...
you'll soon see the coffee is still the same price as it was befor your
straight run !

Best advice ... don't worry about the score ... just focus on breaking the next bird out. It's the most important one ! The referee/scorekeeper will tell
you what your score is once the round is over.
