Have any of you used/have the Fab Defense benelli m4 handguard????
Kinda like the look and price of it. For 100$ compared to the $300+ for the B&T quad rail one.
Any thought or opinions?????
Wonderring what to get when my gets here.
Bringing this one back from the dead!
I just bought a used set of the Fab Defense rails. To say 'fitting may be required' is the understatement of the century. I'm guessing that FAB Defense doesn't actually have a Benelli M4 to actually make sure this 'rail' fits out of the box, because there is ZERO chance of 'drop in' fit.
Either my M4 is defective, or massively out of spec, or the mold used to make this forend was made by a 1st year machinist student at SAIT.
Annnyway, after about an hour with various knives, files, and rasps, I get the thing to fit. ONce you get it settled and bolted together, it's not going anywhere.. I'm quite surprised how tight the fit is. THat being said - it feels like a ton of bricks, and totally changes the balance of the gun (for me).
I tried the AFG (1 and 2) on the bottom, and it just feels weird. I like rails and VFG and the whole bit normally, but on this gun (or at least with this rail system) it just feels awkward for me. Without a VFG of some sort (even with rail covers) it's a terrible forend. Since I'm finding the VFG/AFG doesn't work for me - I'll probably go back to stock!
For the guys with the B&T rails - any complaints? Heavy? The Fab one is a 2/3 of a pound and makes it a clumsy setup in my opinion.
