Have any of you used/have the Fab Defense benelli m4 handguard????

Kinda like the look and price of it. For 100$ compared to the $300+ for the B&T quad rail one.

Any thought or opinions?????

Wonderring what to get when my gets here.

Bringing this one back from the dead!

I just bought a used set of the Fab Defense rails. To say 'fitting may be required' is the understatement of the century. I'm guessing that FAB Defense doesn't actually have a Benelli M4 to actually make sure this 'rail' fits out of the box, because there is ZERO chance of 'drop in' fit.

Either my M4 is defective, or massively out of spec, or the mold used to make this forend was made by a 1st year machinist student at SAIT.

Annnyway, after about an hour with various knives, files, and rasps, I get the thing to fit. ONce you get it settled and bolted together, it's not going anywhere.. I'm quite surprised how tight the fit is. THat being said - it feels like a ton of bricks, and totally changes the balance of the gun (for me).

I tried the AFG (1 and 2) on the bottom, and it just feels weird. I like rails and VFG and the whole bit normally, but on this gun (or at least with this rail system) it just feels awkward for me. Without a VFG of some sort (even with rail covers) it's a terrible forend. Since I'm finding the VFG/AFG doesn't work for me - I'll probably go back to stock!

For the guys with the B&T rails - any complaints? Heavy? The Fab one is a 2/3 of a pound and makes it a clumsy setup in my opinion.

The best upgrades, I think are the GG&G bolt handle and pad. I'm trying to source these right now! If anyone has a line drop me a PM.

Having used a Benelli gun with the pad, I can say that they are definitely worth the money.

Guys... how have you found the GG&G charging handles?
I've owned my M4 for several years and admittedly the GG&G charging handle was amongst the first things I bought for it (along with a Micro T1)... anyways, I was feeling good about it until the charging handle somehow flew off the gun at the range. Pretty embarrassing to say the least, and I haven't used it since... Is my experience the anomaly?

I have never actually used one. I have used the pad before on an M2 but not the GG&G Bolt handle. I did recently read that some people had issues with the bolt handles.

People were recommending a titanium handle made by some company that used to be called Progressive Machine and Tool. I tried to find and good image of it but have had no luck.

I'm running the Carrier Comp charging handle, its designed along the same lines of the original, which serves as a disassembly tool for the M4

Having used a Benelli gun with these parts and without, I can say that they are definitely worth the money.

Also looking for these parts if anyone has a source. Nordic components will not ship to Canada.

I like the GG&G but hate the fact that it spins too :(

I got one of the last few oversized Titanium charging handle from Brownells (now listed as discontinued). It is designed exactly like the factory charging handle bit a bigger knurled grip.

I had the GG&G oversized handle (meant for the M2) on mine before, but the M4's handle has a bigger collar on it, so the GG&G handle actually ended up bending quite badly (would still operate but just barely).

I know they have one meant for the M4 now, but the Titanium one I have is a very nice handle.
