The rail is made by Brugger and Thomet. Nice and sturdy. I love it and with the addition of the AFG it balances perfectly. I like rails on my firearms and this rail on the M4 is rock solid and worth it. I hated the stock plastic handguards, the rail allows for a more natural shooting position and consistant hold.

Paid about $275 at Wolverine Supply for the rail, part number BT-211510.
 
gushulak, what kind of grease, and do you use oil on the rest or just grease throughout?
I have a tonne of clp, but the advantage of grease is that it stays where you put it.

I use CLP all over for cleaning and white lithium wheel bearing grease on the back of the bolt lugs. Canadian tire sells it for about $4, lasts a lifetime. Should get your M4 running smoothly in no time.
 
so you run it dry aside from the bolt lugs? I've been using white lithium grease on the bolt carrier where it contacts the receiver, bolt where it contacts the bolt carrier and a bit on the bolt lugs. I also put a bit on the "recoil spring guide?" (the floppy rod on the rear of the bolt carrier) for good measure. I've been satisfied with the reliability so far, but the less malfunctions the better right? All my malfunctions were failures to fully chamber, if that helps diagnose the problem better. the bolt was maybe 1/8" from being fully closed and thus wouldn't fire. Simply cocking the gun remedied the malfunction. I may switch to clp next time I run a bunch of ammo through it and see if that helps.

It should be snug. The washers are of different size so you need to experiement. The idea is to keep the rail snug and in place. There should be no space between the front piece/rail and barrel.

Tube is cut a thread for a fake tube "that screws on to the mag tube"

So its 5rd Mag tube -Fake screw on mag tube -Mag tube cap

Its a PITA and its only 5rds of 2 3/4' "not 5rds of 3" " :( "the M2 tactical is only 5rds or 2 3/4" too"

I haven't had to use any. The rail mounts nice and tight without the use of the washers. It is a great rail, well designed and fits nice and tight.

As far as lube goes, the bolt lugs and most of the riding surfaces of the bolt get lithium grease. Seems to be all that is needed for 100% function. I am still waiting on my first failure, after about 1250 rounds and going strong.

I would have to concur with guhulak - grease away with lithium. NO failures after break in. Round count on the M4 is 600ish ( its new still) All done with no 7.5 heavy loads Winchester 2 1/2inch

Ive avoided the tube limit by purchasing the 14" as u can see.
