Just shot the MR-1 for the first time. It sure is clean compared to my AR!

Off the bench with the irons shooting Fiocchi 55gr ball I managed 2.5-3" but it is hard to see the target at 100 yards. I am definitely going to scope this with a variable.

It shot well with all of my mags, no failures at all.

They love the WWB 45 gr they shoot them in 1.25 inch @100 metres with my scope MR-1 if you reload they crave Hornady A-max 52 gr... JP.

OK a little info as I got a tri-rail....with non-fitting hardware.

THEY ARE A PAIN IN THE ASS TO INSTALL.

First you have to drill the holes marked in the foreend yourself.

THen the fun part, getting the thing mounted.
There is no room in there to get pliers or a socket over the nuts. The inside bolts you can really only hold the nut in with 1 finger force and tighten that way, I managed to get needlenose pliers over the front 2.

Number 6 heads fits perfectly, but typical thread will be too wide.
Number 5 fits as well, but good luck finding them.
I went with number 4 bolts which still work fine.

***Thread lenght of the bolt you use cannot be more than 3/8"!!!!

If the bolt extends into the foreend, it will hit the piston assembly and you won't be able to install it. 3/8" is flush fit, easier said then done...I suppose if you could somehow get a 7/16" length it would be better...but thats cutting it yourself.

What makes this a pain, is that because you cannot get anything to hold the nut in the rear due to lack of space, I could only get the bolt to bite half the nut at most. THe front 2 I could torque flush with the nut since I could get pliers over the nut.

PAIN IN THE ASS.

I was thinking that a bipod would make long periods of shooting pleasant since its a bit on the heavy side, which is the main reason I mounted the rails.

Being able to mount a light is just a bonus.

I don't see this crazy piece of railed plastic costing 100$...but....Benelli. And I got mine second hand anyhow.

I mounted the Redfield 2x7. The cheekweld isn't as bad I had feared it would be. It looks wierd with the rings angled backwards but it is setup for its eye relief so that I have a good FOV at 7x when I shoulder it. On 2x it's pretty good as a sort of CQB sight (as far as I can tell shouldering it in my basement).

I'll take it to the range this week and see how it does at 100 and 200 yards.

I can see the iron sights through the Leupold see through rings and will give them a try at 25 yards as well.

I shortened the stock and was able to mount the rings forward and still have a good sight picture at 7x.

With Fiochi ball at 100 yards off a front rest (no sand bags) it groups 5 rounds into 2".

At 200 yards I got a 5 shot 3.5" group.

At 2x it's almost as fast as red dot.

I was able to shoot accurately with the irons through the see through rings.

Now it just needs a lightweight sling and it's done.

It also cycles Wichester HPs without a hitch.
