Benelli MR1 Builds

I gotta get a better picture of my MR-1 (it's the one in the middle ;)).

I like to keep my irons on field rifles so I went with Leupold see-through :)eek: I know, I know). I have a Redfield 2x7 with the Accurange reticle. It works well and shoots 2 MOA off a front rest (no sandbags) with 55g Fiochi ball.

The cheek weld is high and I will probably put a cheek rest on it.

The irons are still useable through the rings.

That looks like a nice set-up. Maybe it's the angle of the photo but is the scope not a bit far back for the eye relief needed? With a 3-9 on mine the back of the scope comes to about the throat of the pistol grip. That looks like a quick release AR scope mount on backwards? Have you had any issues with ejecting brass with the release clips above the action? I tried doing that with a Burris P.E.P.R. mount reversed and had failure to eject issues with the brass hitting the nuts with them on the action side.

My first set-up

Eye relief, for me, is perfect as mounted. Different scope, eye position and physical attributes dictate slightly different positioning of the scope mounting. Haven't had a problem with FTE with the ADM. When I first mounted using a Millett riser, yes the nuts presented a constant problem (and the scope was simply too high). The ADM cams don't stick out as far and work well.

Thanks, I may try that type of setup at some point. I'd like to get a 1-4x, maybe a Trijicon with an ADM mounting system. What is the scope you have on yours?

Vortex Viper PST 1-4x24. I only just installed it (replaced a Bushnell Elite Tactical) so have'nt had much chance to try it at the range, maybe tomorrow.

Where can a person find the tri rail for the front of the Mr1?

Try Wolverines or The Shooting Edge. You can actually use the Beretta CX4 rail, they're the same thing except the CX4 rail doesn't have any mounting hardware. Just use black Chicago screws for mounting. Quick and easy.

Your current system with just the Burris tactical rings and the Burris Fullfield II and no irons looks good. I could see that having a decent cheek weld rather than a chin weld. The quick release mounts are designed for rifles with straight back stocks such as the AR, Tavor and other modern rifles. The traditional style stock of the MR1 would make it more difficult. I think you've got it right, the way you have it. Looks clean as well.

I stopped visting Gun Nutz for a while, and I almost missed this post...
I think Hit r Miss has the best setup, but I like mine as well. Here's what I got.

I know I need better pics

Also, if Yeomans, if you ever make the trip to Edmonton, you can get P&D to order one for you for $92. Or get them to ship it. Any Beretta/Benelli dealer should be able to order tyhem though.

Changed it up again. Adjustable stock, LaRue mount backwards, can leave the irons on for backup and still mount a Trijicon 1-4x with correct eye relief

Some good looking builds, in my opinion. Anybody tried mounting the Vortex Sparc with 3X magnifier behind? I'm wondering if there is room for it without removing the rear sight?

I bought one. Put my SPARC on it, but its too high for any hope of co-witness. I might remove the rear iron and then have the SPARC further back on the rail. It's a little far forward now to get a good sight picture with the doubler.

I really like this platform except for that f#cking stock/chin weld

mine got a 6x18x50mm on 1'' base its a tight fit but work nicely and yote love it dearly :)
