Benelli MR1 Tactical Rifle

Go for it, best overall rifle NR 0-3000.00, i can says and it is verifiable, if a person say that it wont be up there with the best, he havent tried one, they are the sleeper of the shooting world in any aspect, really would like that peoples share their real life targets pictures from their rifles, i will be sure not scare to put mine on... JP.

It is only tactical, it has the potential for a very effective long range groundhogs rifle... JP.

Criogenik make it perform like a bull barrel, no other companie do it it is to expensive but and i tested it wont be able to have that barrel hot enough for stringing shoots, i did shoot 50 rounds in a row(fast fire) and went for group just after and still got sub moa, i will find the pictures of the target and post it... JP.

I haven't looked into it much but, isn't the barrel chrome lined also?

Yes it is and between my first MR-1 that have been shoot 5000+ and the 2 others i own, if you dont see the outside of the rifle and look tru the barrel with the ballistic light, you cant tell wich one shot 200 rounds nor the one that wasnt shot or the one that have 5K shots tru it, it is good stuff Benelli... JP.

Here is the target, i did empty as fast as i could 5 Lar-15 mag of cheap surplus and kept the last LAR-15 ( Scenars 77 gr ) mag for a sand bag shooting group with a very hot barrel and 8 shots were sub moa all together 10 shots just over one inch, that thin barrel is a lot better than a lot of thicker barrel if you asked me... It really is a quality gun and handles very nicely. You'd never know it weighs as much as the stats say it does. Benelli makes quality, and there is no exception w/ the MR1. It's basically the Beretta RX4 Storm police carbine. Ignore the AR purists who slag it off.

A cautionary note though: the MR1 and the Lucid HD7 holographic sight are not very compatible. I put a Lucid on recently and all of a sudden I was having failure to eject problems...a shock after, oh, 400+ rounds of flawless functioning. The problem comes from the right-sided, giant nuts (insert jokes here) on the built-in rail mount. It seems that they get in the way of the casings as they eject and cause stovepiping. This isn't surprising when you look at the receiver and the position of the ejection port on the MR1.

I took the gun into Italian Sporting Goods (where I purchased it) and the gunsmith tried to reposition the sight so that it wouldn't interfere w/ ejection. It improved, but I was still getting failures to eject. Put the old ultradot red dot back on, mounted on Weaver rings, and just fired almost 100 rounds today w/out a hitch. It's back to its old reliable self...

NB: I'm not knocking Lucid; the HD7 is a great sight, especially for the money...just not w/ the MR1.
