Agreed, the MR1 has flaws. But the SA locally sells for $3600.00 + change. I guess if you've got that kind of coin, terrific. I don't and i"m guessing a lot of the others on this board don't either. They're in two different ball parks playing slightly different games. Enjoy your SA, I only wish I could.

There's no way in hell I would pay $3400 -3600 for one either. Keep an eye on the EE (equipment exchange) and they pop up for around $2700 used, that's where mine came from.

The whole damn problem with this "big" western town is there's no competition. Most of the locals carry firearms they know the other guy doesn't sell and figure it's an invitation to hose the customer. They haven't figured out that people have access to the internet and can see what the stuff really sells for. I know of firearms that have sat on the shelf for over two years, give 'em an offer, and they just laugh. I'm not talking a stupid offer either. Not even a throw in to seal the deal. Notta. They just figure everyone's walking through the door and offering their head just to be there. It really amounts to rape at the cash counter and, talking to others in the stores, they know it too. Just no choice. You want it, bend over.

I'm a little adverse to buying used, Christ knows what people have done. Sounds like you've done right by yourself though. Cheers!

Feels like the hostility has subdued a bit around here. The dead horse maybe doesn't need beating after all! Maybe everyone can be friends again. We're not all in the same situation or have the same buyer's power. Take care and may your rounds fly straight.
