Benelli SuperNova 14"

I played with one at WSS, the first thing I noticed was the action was a little looser than my 18.5", the muzzle was noticably lighter and the adjustable stock, ugly as it is, was nicer LOP wise than my 18.5". Typical Benelli quality. Id buy one if I didnt already have another one.

Cool. me must have! what is the price ?

I have one and well WOW!

It is rock soild and feeds anything even thoughts Crappy tire shells with ease.

My only compliant is no chokes :(

P.S. I sold my 870 "thats how much I like this gun ;)"

I'm in the market for a new pump. I was looking at the supernova tactical. What would be some benefits and disadvantages of the 18.5 vs the 14?

For me I would say I'm definitely leaning towards the 18.5, more accuracy at longer ranges. Despite this, the 14inch looks more bad ass to me, I really like to look of them.

Accuracy has little to do with barrel length, shot will spread faster out of the shorter barrel but slugs should be unaffected. The 18.5" affords a bit more sight radius but its not like we're talking about a rifle here. The 14" is much shorter with the adjustable stock but other than that its just personal preference. With the 18.5 you can run a +2 extension and have up to 8 rds. in the gun while the 14" is a bit more maneuverable. IIRC the 14" should be between 6 and 700 bucks. Both great shotguns for the money

Thanks for the tips, I'm definitely leaning towards the 14". Do you know anyone else who sells the 14" besides wolverine supplies and cabelas? I'm in Calgary and found one for sale at Cebelas in Edmonton.

The one I handled was at Wholesale Sports in Grande Prairie. If I had to choose between the 2 Id go 14" but its not enough for me to switch from the one I got just yet. Im trying to remember what the price was and I want to say $699 but dont quote me on that.

Thanks guys, I just bought a 14", it was $819.00 before tax, shipping and handling. I bought it from cebelas.

I received mine from Cabelas today.

First impressions:

It's heavier than it looks.

The top rail is included. (I think the 18" version is taped, but doesn't come with a rail).

Changing the position of the collapsible stock isn't as easy as it should be. The release button requires a lot of pressure. That small problem aside, the stock is great. The shotgun measures 31" with the stock unextended .

The forend rattles, but I already knew that about Supernovas. Coming from a company with "Simply perfect" as its motto, this is a bit disappointing though.

Overall, it's a sweet looking shotgun.

Next to my Norinco HP9 with hogue 12" LOP stock:

The forend just needs to be tighten no big deal "use a allen key" Mine rattles less then most 870s :)

Also the stock is rock soild and do you really need to change the length in a split second ;)

Pumps in general "Rattle" ...love these though. If it wasn't for the Kel-Tec coming, I'd be all over one of these.

Hmmmmm then again the Kel-Tec is probably a solid year away.

Can anyone with a Cabela's 14" SuperNova tell me if the barrel has 18" stamped on it anywhere?

Thanks!

When I tighten the forend to reduce the rattling, it sticks to the receiver.

I'm not sure what you mean, but there is a small "18.4" stamped near the bottom of the barrel on the edge of the forend. Why does it matter?

They all say 18" But benelli chopped it at the factory so its ok "the 16" 870s were chopped in Canada and thats why they were banned"

Man, if I wasn't broke at the moment, I would love to get me one of these beauties. I could sell my 870 Police and get it, but......nah :D

That is a nice purchase my friend.

When the stock is fully closed, what is the overall length of the shotty tip to end?
