Benelli supernova tactical

Beneli SuperNova Tactical

Congrats on your purchase. You will surely enjoy your shotty for years to come.
Although the iron sights are more than enough for any target aquisition, you may want to consider adding a Burris Fastfire Reflex Reddot sight or something similar which will increase the speed of your target acquisition.

If you have the fixed pistol gripped stock, a medium limbsaver slip-on is a good fit. Cant comment on the collapsible stock tho

I've been looking around for a long time and haven't been able to come across anything for the collapsible stock. I know I can always go with the slip on limbsaver but I've been looking for something more permanent. After a day at the range firing off 3 1/2" buckshot the hockey puck recoil pad that comes on the gun is ruthless.

Supernova Tacticool 14"

Was at the gun shop today. Soon as I saw that 14" Tactical Supernova with a retractable stock, I knew she was made for me :D

For faster zombies acquisition, I strapped an EO Tech on top of her... really adds a chunk to the cool factor. Taking her out to the range Sunday. Can' wait!!

Hey all --

I'm just getting into shooting and I've spent a lot of time over the last 2 weeks deliberating on a shotgun. I've decided I'm going to get a Benelli, but I can't decide between an supernova tactical 14" with collapsible stock or an 18.5" with a comfortech or a 18.5" with a pistol grip.

I'm only planning to use it at the range with targets and on crown land with a Canadian tire clay launcher. I want something that will be comfortable for a days worth of shooting and will allow me to knock off some clays.

Is the 14" going to have too much spread? Is it going to destroy my shoulder shooting 2 3/4? Or do I need to weigh the functionality if the 18.5 a little more.

Thanks for any thoughts and feedback.

Both are cyl. bore so I doubt spread will be much different between the 2. Go for heavy payload field loads (1 1/8 to 1 1/4oz.) with 7 or bigger shot to help keep things together out to about 30 yds or so. 2 3/4" loads wont kill you, with proper hold you wont notice the recoil. If I had a choice I would add a 14" collapsible Supernova to my collection with a good slip on pad. I wouldnt get rid of my 18.5" however.

Here's me new shotty. Since it was her first day out of the box and out to the range, I was nice to her: she was only fed 30 x 3" no.4 shots and 35 x 3" slugs.

Because I am very lightweight, I was expecting a bit of abuse on the shoulder or worse, that she kicks like mule. To the contrary, the Supernova Tactical 14" barrel & collapsible stock is surprisingly smooth and easy to shoot. Definitely fun and a purchase you simply can't regret.

After 20 shots or so with the iron sights, I fixed the holographic sight (EO Tech) on it. I have not stopped smiling since... After just 6 clicks up adjustment at 50 yards, the next 20 slugs were all bull and within a 3" group. :dancingbanana:

Benelli SuperNova Tactical 12ga shotgun with 14" barrel & collapsible stock is the most fun you can have with your clothes on. :D

Cheers

This is a nice pump but what about the chances of getting this bad boy in country?

Would an M4 not be more desirable (and cheaper) since we're not allowed anything that can have over 5 shells in the tube anyway?

This this shogun is great for turkey hunting too!!!
I removed the 14" barrel and fitted the optional 24", fitted a turkey choke and off to the range I went for patern check. The EO Tech kept its zero so no adjustment required.

Felt good to go so to the field I went this Monday... came back with a nice wild turkey, my first.

For the cost, the Supernova is a wonderful "all around" shotty. Just love it.

Where did you find an aftermarket barrel for it? It wasnt on the shelf beside the hen's teeth was it?

Not a shelf item but a catalog parts. Not sure about Hen's teeth... With a 3.5" shotshell #6 fired at 15 yards, the whole head nearly got vaporized :D

Check Benelli parts catalog on their website, many barrels and other goodies are listed for the supernova. For a barrel threaded for chokes, I had a choice of 3 lengths in the black matte finish, 24, 26 & 28". Partno for the 24" barrel is 80212. Any sponsor selling Benellis should be able to order you one. If you have no luck, shoot me a PM and I'll give you the Montreal dealer I ordered/bought mine from.

Cheers,

Is this the catalogue in their "store" tab on the BenelliUSA website? They look 300-400ish? Isthat where you were looking?

This must be new, when I ws searching for a field barrel 2 yrs ago my only option was Stoeger Canada or used. The gunnut that I was going to buy the barrel from had to back out due to the extremely long wait from stoeger for an 18.5" bbl. I dont blame him either, who wants a perfectly good gun with no barrel? Anyways its good to know we can get them now, what was pricing like? In the US, Benelli barrels sell for almost as much as the shotguns do. (or they did)

Here is the 2012 dealers workbook - I call it catalog:

Pic on page 33, price list on page 48.

Island-Craig, your estimate is bang on. I paid $370 cad for my 24" barrel. Not a cheap option but I wanted one. As explained earlier, it already paid off with a wild turkey.

Yup, I hear that! Good shootin' On the other hand, I was hoping there was another source... because the barrel for my shotgun that I want is over 500. Owell, maybe I'll keep trying more smoothbore slugs.
