Beowulf VS Pmag comparison + Awesome Bonus!

Might be good to split this thread...once ATRS mentioned they might bring in 5 round Beowulf mags the OP's thread turned into a pseudo waiting list and it appears it will only continue to do so.
Your review and pics are appreciated StylinMike! Sorry your thread got derailed!

I agree, sorry for derailing your thread Mike.

To those who emailed and pmed. We are still looking into the Beowulf mag thing, I will post in our dealer forum once we have something concrete to report.

Thanks for the comparison pictures and the fact that ranger plates fit is amazing. I'm on the original preorder list with Armtac, hopefully they get more soon.

Turns out I spoke or posted too soon.
Alexander Arms has the 50 Beowulf copy righted, patented and so close to covered in all aspects we can not make or have made for us, mags that indicated this caliber. We figured if we made some guns in this caliber we could also have mags made for our guns, but it is looking more like a legal nightmare that I just do not want to get dragged into.

Sorry guys, this 1 is just not gonna happen.

I don't want to give up info that could be used against the gun culture so can not be specific, but no, not gonna happen as there is too much info available that would thwart this.
We are working on something however that "may" work out but too soon to say anymore.

Well if your guys go AA web store then you will find the .50 beiwolf mag are listing as $24 Maybe $4-5 more than a P mag or similar product. So i guess the "$50" retail price up here are set by our great importer ?? Not by AA. So it's totally nothing doing with the production cost ?? lol

Like I said a little pricey but not unreasonable. I can understand a new product being a little more money per unit to compensate for the costs involved.
I would pay $28 for a mag but I won't be buying 10 of them. When I come for my matched upper/lower from you for my build I'm sure I'll be taking one or two of the AT-15 mags with me if you have them in stock.

So if they make the CAA AT-15 from a new mold and it retails for $28.00 then explain why the Beowulf mag that needed all the same things such as the new mold to create it and the labor to produce it and package it resulted in a $50 mag. Sounds like the Beowulf tax again.

We've already gone over this. Supply and demand. Little to no supply (only one company officially importing Beowulf mags) and large demand = price inflation. That's all the is to it.

Have they been at all in stock in 2013? Nope

Yeah supply and demand

I knew they don't have any in stock but AA didn't set the MSRP for double either

AA stuff are also in short of supply in US too

So should dealer and impoter take advantage and mark up double because they are the only one bring in?

Sounds more like a car business so if you want the brand new BMW M3 and don't want to wait then you have to pay $15000 over MSRP?
But it's all the dealer playing the game. The factory won't set the MSRP like that

Have they been at all in stock in 2013? Nope

lots of talk on cbc news latly about gun owners circumventing mag law capacity. I would bet money that the ar pistol mags will be very hard to find in the future.

I do not think it is so much "circumventing" the laws it is more using the fact that most of the laws are poorly written and leave a lot of room for interpretation. This is typically done on purpose for the governments advantage. Sometimes however it works to our advantage.

Hopefully at some point the government bodies responsible will realize that all the B.S. laws they create do NOT cut down on crime as criminals don't care in the 1st place if they are breaking a law.
To enact a reasonable and rational set laws with very harsh consequences would be cheaper and far more effective than the current emotional and politically based ones that have such a bias against the legal usage by citizens set we currently endure.
