Hey guys I recently purchased a Beretta 92fs Inox, and today I took it to the range for the first time. However I ran into some issues I had multiple stove pipes, as well as failure to feeds. It would happen at least 2 or 3 times every mag. I was shooting Federal American Eagle FMJ, and I went through 100 rounds. It started to happen less after the first 50 rounds, but I was never able to make it all the way through a 10rnd mag without a failure.

When I got home I took the gun apart cleaned it, and did notice that whatever oil that was on it before had mostly evaporated. After cleaning a applied new lube and plan to shoot another 50 through it on Thursday.

Could anything else be causing this issue?

Did you purchase the gun new or used? Week mag springs can cause problems as well.

I have the exact same pistol. The only time I ever had a jam was when I first used two new "Pro-Mag" magazines, but after a few times loading them, they broke in and I had no issues after that..Give the action some lubricant.I use Mil-Comm light grease sparingly, works excellent...

The 92 likes to be ran wet oil her up and let er rip

Nope..., it will run fine dry as a bone! (just wear a little quicker)

... & to the OP:
It is used i'm sure, so just change out the mainspring & mag springs then you will find the gun will feed fine.
Hope you got a good deal, because it sounds like there are many rounds through it.

unless you are lying about your problems.

How much trigger time do you have with semis? If you are new to the game it opens up a few possibilities.

Thinking limpwristing? I hope not my neice shoots my 92 like a champ i hope he's tougher then a 12 year old with a pony tail

Both of my 92fs run like :bigHug::bigHug::bigHug::bigHug: completely dry as well as my 92f

My Italian made is flawless after 450 consecutive through the pipe... wiped off dry with alcohol as a test 2 years ago.

Even with dirty ammo, I have never had a problem.
like I said... there are too many fibbers on here

Might be you're limp wristing it? Took some friends to the range and they were having the same problem with a 92fs,every 2nd,3rd round, stove pipe, ftf, it was weird, cause they were shooting the 1911 with out any problems.

OMG... this pistol is not even prone to "LIMP WRISTING"!!!

(did not try this on a DIRTY.. DRY BERETTA WITH CRAPPY AMMO & BAD SPRINGS MIND YOU)!

Then you may have a problem!!!

The only time I have had a problem with my 92fs was with some friends reloads. (undercharged) even then... we went through 180 with only 6 stoppages.

Hey, I wouldn't of thought so ether, But, like I said, my friend's, who in all fairness are very new to firearms, were making this jam every time,I'd take the pistol and it'd work with out a hitch, not faulting the hardwear, just saying the softwear might need more work, that's all.

Well, the "hardware" you use is not stock then.
Through my own tests and the tests of the falling/failing U.S. of A... this is not an issue.

Too many people give in to marketing schemes. Some help... most don't.
Its just another way to take your work money legally.

That's not what I said, not blaming the hardwear,The hardwear is stock out of the box ,less then 100rds through it,the gun wasn't the issue, the inexperience of the shooter was.

did the "inexperienced shooter" stick his/her finger in the ejection port?

If limp wristing is the argument... then you should see this video & then take the judgement of the U.S. Armed Forces into question.

go to the 2:15 mark. I did the same tests.
You must be lying, or used hand-loads & a child.

IF NOT ... return your firearm, because it is flawed.

To be honest not a whole lot with Semi's, but I don't think it is a grip issue when I had my first failure I really tightened up on the grip. I had no problem controlling the gun or hitting targets whatsoever, so I don't think that could be the issue. I am not a weak guy either I have shot a .44 and a .454 without issue, but that being said those were revolvers obviously.

I purchased the gun new from Italian Sporting Goods in Vancouver, BC.

* I plan to take the gun back out Thursday or Friday depending on the weather. The next time I do take it out if the issue persists I will take some video of it.
